The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . Canada's Simply Embarrassing Blasphemy Law And Unitarian Universalism - What's The Connection?

Summarizing an Opinion Editorial by Winnipeg lawyer Douglas J. Johnston calling for the repeal of Canada's blasphemy law in the Winnipeg Free Press headlined Strike Canada's blasphemy law as a sign of good faith, The National Post's Chris Selley writes in this week's Full Comment Weekend Roundup that Johnston, "argues that ditching Canada’s anti-blasphemy law might be a nice gesture as part of this religious freedom exercise. Such laws are a bad idea on principle, as he says. But ours is particularly bad, he explains, in that it doesn’t define blasphemy, “there doesn’t have to be an element of intention to support a successful prosecution,” and it would be unlikely to survive a Charter challenge anyway. More to the point, we’d say, it’s 2013. That such a law exists is simply embarrassing."

Without further ado here is the comment that I just submitted in response to the National Post's 'Full Comment Weekend Roundup' with some typos corrected and some hyperlinks added -

Regarding Canada's "simply embarrassing" blasphemy law.

I had, and still have. . . the great honour and privilege of being accused of blasphemous libel by the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations last June for allegedly making "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape."

Of course the key word in all that legalistic bluster is *unfounded*, and the few allegations that I actually have made about Unitarian Universalists engaging in "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" are very well founded in fact. The Unitarian Universalists in question were charged with rape, tried for rape, convicted of rape, and incarcerated for the rape of minors. Most ironically, the UU who I described as a "pedophile rapist" because his victims, including "a female family member", were as young as 9 or 10 years old at the times that the rapes were committed was, to the best of my knowledge, not a UU minister at all but an ordinary UU layman. Ergo, prior to receiving the cease and desist demand letter, I had not actually blogged about any pedophilia committed by Unitarian Universalist ministers. This is a clear attempt to misuse and abuse Canada's blasphemy law to silence a critic and cover up and hide online testimony about Unitarian Universalist clergy sexual abuse.

You may view and read the complete cease and desist demand letter at the following URL -

http://emersonavenger.blogspot.ca/2012/07/marc-andre-coulombe-stikeman-elliott.html

Here is my most recent email to the Stikeman Elliott litigation lawyer who had me served with this cease and desist demand letter last June -

end quote

I dare say that it is "simply embarrassing" to The Tiny Declining Fringe Religion aka Unitarian Universalism that the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations has not only incredibly foolishly accused me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel but, more than eight months down the road, still obstinately refuses to responsibly withdraw that bogus criminal accusation against me and properly and publicly apologize to me for having brought it against me in an outrageously hypocritical, shamefully hubristic, and all but completely ineffective misguided attempt at Lance Armstrong legal bullying which seeks to cover up and hide the Truth that *some* "less than perfect" ministers of the Unitarian Universalist Association have engaged in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape.

Rev. Victoria Weinstein's "Sodomy Fantasy" Imagining "South Dakota State Senator Bill Napoli Anally Impaled On The Statue Of Liberty's Torch" And The Washington Monument's Birthday - What's The Connection?

How about the following "Cautionary Tail" comment that I just posted in response to Patrick Murfin's "less than polite" blog post entitled 'Happy Birthday to that Phallus in Washington—No, Not John Boehner'?

With a typo or two corrected and some hyperlinks added in order to encourage persons of inherent worth and dignity to engage in a free and responsible search for its Truth and meaning. . .

And yup, you're gonna think of the "sodomy fantasy" of Rev. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang which obscenely, if not just a tad Sadistically. . . imagined "South Dakota state senator Bill Napoli anally impaled on the Statue of Liberty's torch". You won’t be able to help yourself. . . And yup, you're gonna wonder if Peacebang aka Vicki The Impaler ever had a similar "sodomy fantasy" imagining the 61st and current Speaker of the United States House of Representatives John Boehner, or some other "less than perfect" Republican politician, "anally impaled on the Washington Monument". . .

Quite evidently, I just wasn’t able to help myself Patrick. ;-)

And yup, you’re gonna think of "memory holing" this "cautionary tail" that serves as yet another "shot across the bow" of the UU Ship Of Fools aka "fair warning" to Unitarian Universalists UU World-wide against going a little bit *too* far with their gratuitous "insulting and defamatory language" and "personal attacks" on persons of inherent worth and dignity which include, but are by no means limited to. . . Rev. Victoria Weinstein's "threatening and defamatory conduct amounting to sexual harassment" of Republican state senator William Napoli.

In case any person of inherent worth and dignity is wondering why I specifically refer to Rev. Victoria Weinstein's "sodomy fantasy" that Sadistically imagined "South Dakota state senator Bill Napoli anally impaled on the Statue of Liberty's torch" as "threatening and defamatory conduct amounting to sexual harassment" of Republican state senator William Napoli. . .

Coveting Your Neighbor's Wife And Unitarian Universalist Clergy Image - What's The Connection?

Can UUs say Rev. Dr. Forrest Church?

This "throw away" TEA blog post is brought to Unitarian Universalists UU World-wide courtesy of a person of inherent worth and dignity at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, who recently engaged in a free and responsible Google Image Search for the Truth and meaning of. . .

coveting neighbor's wife

I will spare UUs the trouble of having to following the above link to view the "less than flattering" image of the "less than perfect" Unitarian Universalist minister of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Manhattan, New York, that their Google Image Search found. . .

It would appear that UU clergy image isn't really doing all that well when it comes to the ever so interconnected web of Google Image Search.

And so it goes. . .

Unitarian Universalism's Alleged Growth And UUA Lies - What's The Connection?

Two days ago the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations posted the following highly questionable Tweet to its Twitter account:

Thanks, @CBSReligion for coming to the #UUA today to interview Rev Morales on growth of Unitarian Universalism! #UU pic.twitter.com/6tORuovb

As seems to be its wont aka habit. . . the UUA added yet another questionable sensationalistic exclamation mark to yet another Unitarian Universalist public statement by the UUA that is open to considerable good old Unitarian question regarding its Truth and meaning, or lack thereof. . .

Just what alleged "growth of Unitarian Universalism!" could CBS Religion possibly be interviewing Rev. Peter Morales about in February of 2013, when the most recent official UUA membership statistics clearly indicate continued decline of The Tiny Declining Fringe Religion under the "less than effective" leadership of UUA President Peter Morales who more or less coined that "less than flattering" (albeit largely Truthful and accurate) description of Unitarian Universalism in his "stump speech" announcing his candidacy for President of  "a tiny, declining, fringe religion"?

As I pointedly pointed out in my Tweets responding to this questionable UUA "spin" aka BS such as. . .

"#UUA Prez Morales knows very well that #UUism is "a tiny, declining, fringe #religion" losing members..."

"If #Unitarian #Universalism is growing why do #UUA membership #statistics show ongoing #decline?"

"@CBSReligion #UU growth is #BS. In 1968 #UUism had 177,431 adult members. In 2012 it had 161,502. #UUA lost 9000+ RE kids in last decade."

Unitarian Universalism is most certainly NOT growing in terms of adult membership in UUA congregations, to say nothing of UU RE enrollments which have been in significant decline for a decade now, and UUA President Peter Morales knows this.

Here is the "heads up" I have held off submitting to CBS News Feedback, preferring instead to allow CBS to broadcast any UUA misinformation and lies told to CBS Religion by UUA President Peter Morales -

This is to inform you that misleading (if not outright false) information has been posted to the CBS Religion Twitter account, and that similar misleading misinformation may have been, or may yet be, aired by CBS Religion.

This CBS Religion Tweet -

https://twitter.com/CBSReligion/status/303852522999775234

and CBS Religion's ReTweet of this UUA Tweet -

https://twitter.com/UUA/status/303937183239270401

misleadingly (if not outright falsely) suggest that "Unitarian Universalism is attracting more followers" and experiencing "growth", when in fact actual membership in UUA congregations has been stagnant for decades and is currently in decline.

Official UUA membership statistics proving that Unitarian Universalism is NOT "attracting more followers" in terms of actual membership in UUA congregations may be seen here-

http://www.uua.org/directory/data/demographics/281427.shtml

If the CBS Religion interview of UUA President Peter Morales has not yet been aired I would strongly suggest that the CBS Religion crew should verify any statements that UUA President Peter Morales may have made about the alleged growth of Unitarian Universalism.

Thank-you,

Robin Edgar

If You're Not Part Of The Solution You ARE Part Of The Problem Unitarian Universalist Style. . .

This short YouTube video clip that I shot right at the beginning this morning's protest against Unitarian Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy in front of the Unitarian Church of Montreal is pretty much self-explanatory, but I will none-the-less have a few things to say about it, and the somewhat longer video that I shot immediately after it, later. This blog post is a work in progress. . .

Unitarian Universalist Humanists Fall Into Nasty Habits Like Sneering At UU Theists And Making “Jokes” That Are Little Short Of Hate Speech. . .

But don't take *my* word for it UUs, take the word of disaffected Conservative Pagan UU Joel Monka for it, as posted in a comment that he submitted to the 'Unitarian Universalist Humanism' post of Roger Schriner's Theists & Atheists: Communication & Common Ground blog. Oh wait, you had better take my word for it after all, since Joel Monka's "less than honest" comment disingenuously pretends that such "nasty habits" only happen when congregations are a "completely homogeneous group" rather than UU "Welcoming Congregations" that are ostensibly "inclusive" of theists, atheists, and agnostics.

Here is what Joel Monka said on Saturday February 16, 2013 -

I think there is much value in congregations including theists, atheists, and agnostics. A completely homogeneous group too easily falls into nasty habits, sneering at those not there to hear it, making “jokes” that are little short of hate speech, not quite realizing how far down that path they’ve gone in the absence of anyone present to call them on it. This leads to being unconscious of just how offensive one’s speech patterns and thoughts have become so that when finally talking to someone in the other camp, you’re unaware of why they feel insulted.

And here is the comment that I have (so far) been unsuccessful in posting in response to Joel Monka's misleading words -

Too funny!

Joel Monka knows perfectly well that there are many "Humanist" dominated UU "churches" that harbor intolerant and abusive Atheists who fall into nasty habits such as sneering at those UU Theists who actually ARE there to hear it, making “jokes” that are little short of hate speech, and not quite realizing (or indeed caring. . .) just how far down that path of intolerance and abuse they’ve gone, even when someone does call them on it. . . I have first hand "direct experience" of such antireligious intolerance and bigotry practiced by intolerant and abusive UU "Humanists", including but by no means limited to a self-described "Cosmic Humanist" UU minister who could also be reasonably described as a "fundamentalist Atheist" UU. Over the span of almost twenty years, I have seen plenty of evidence of similar behavior by UU "Humanists" in all of the North American regions of the UU World as well as in Europe. In fact, if I remember correctly and I am pretty sure that I do. . . Joel Monka himself recently quit his own UU "church" precisely because its Christian oriented UU minister was run out of the "church" by the dominant "Humanist" faction. Am I wrong Joel?

But yes, like Joel do I think there is much value in UU congregations including theists, atheists, and agnostics, however they must deal firmly and forthrightly with problems arising from intolerant and abusive UUs failing or refusing to honor and uphold the claimed principles and purposes of UUism, especially when the minister is part of that problem. As Joel knows from his own bitter experience that caused him to leave his UU "church", it does not always work that way. . . If it is not possible for UU Humanists and Theists to get along together in mutual respect and cooperation then perhaps it is best that congregations do arrange to attend different congregations or different services in the same UU "church".

National Standing On The Side Of Love Day 2013 And The Unitarian Universalist Tradition Of Ministerial Sexual Misconduct aka Clergy Sexual Abuse - What's The Connection?

How about Rev. Tom Schade's brand spanking new thelivelytradition blog post entitled 'Periods of Modern UU History' just for starters? Yes, that's right UUs, for reasons unknown to The Emerson Avenger, Rev. Tom Schade has chosen the fate of posting the following "blasphemous libel" against "less than perfect" Unitarian Universalist ministers on St. Valentine's Day 2013 aka National Standing On The Side Of Love Day 2013 -

"More importantly, the radical break with traditional sexual morality allowed previously existing tradition of ministerial sexual misconduct to surface and even claim legitimacy."

It's a good thing that UU minister Rev. Tom Schade is an American citizen, and thus not subject to being accused of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel by Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe on behalf of the foolish leaders of The Tiny Declining Fringe Religion™ aka Unitarian Universalism ensconced in The Place That Reeks Of Hierarchy And Privilege™ aka UUA headquarters at 25 Beacon Street in Boston.

Kathleen Kay Montgomery UUA Executive Vice President And UU Clergy Misconduct Enabler Announces Her Retirement. . .

I have just become aware of this "hot off the press" UU World article titled 'Kay Montgomery announces retirement from UUA' about how Kathleen "'Kay" Montgomery the Executive Vice President of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations has announced that she is retiring after 30 years of "less than excellent" service to the Unitarian Universalist Association, 28 of which were in her capacity as Executive Vice President.

The article says that "'Kay" Montgomery joined the UUA staff in 1983 and that, "She has held the position of executive vice president since 1985, and has worked alongside five UUA presidents: the Rev. Eugene Pickett, the Rev. Dr. William F. Schulz, the Rev. John Buehrens, the Rev. William Sinkford, and the Rev. Peter Morales."

That is quite the legacy of negligent and effectively complicit "oversight" of UU clergy misconduct of ALL kinds in light of the fact that, according to her official UUA bio, UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen "'Kay" Montgomery "is responsible, under the supervision of the President, for the day-to-day management of the Association", "supervises all UUA senior staff" (such as Rev. Diane Miller, Rev. Beth Miller, & Rev. Dr. Tracey Robinson-Harris to name but a few. . .) and "coordinates the work of the UUA legal counsel" which presumably includes but is not limited to Maitre Marc-André Coulombe of the UUA's Canadian attorneys Stikeman Elliott LLP Barristers & Solicitors.

The UU World article claims that "'Kay" Montgomery announced her decision to retire to UUA employees during a UUA staff meeting on Thor's Day February 7, 2013. The UU World article reports that UUA President Peter Morales told UUA staff in an email that:

"Kay Montgomery’s retirement will truly end an era at the UUA. She has served our Association with distinction and grace. On a personal note, she has been an invaluable colleague."

The UU World article fails to report that the quote gleaned from President Morales' "electronic communication" did not quite end there but went on to say, "especially when it comes to coordinating the work of Stikeman Elliott LLP Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc André Coulombe's Lance Armstrong style legal bullying which falsely accuses Robin Edgar of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel on the unfounded basis that Mr. Edgar has made "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape."

UUA President Peter Morales is reported to have also said,

"Our tiny, declining, fringe religion is in a period of exciting change filled with the breathtaking possibility of accusing a person of inherent worth and dignity of the archaic if not obsolete crime of blasphemous libel for the first time in Unitarian Universalist history. As we celebrate Kay’s service to abusive UU clergy and their negligent and complicit enablers in the UUA, let us prepare to embrace the future of UUA complicity in UU clergy misconduct of all kinds."

An upcoming issue of UU World will reflect on "'Kay" Montgomery’s three decades with the UUA, but will say nothing at all about her role in the UUA's institutional cover up and denial of all manner of clergy misconduct which includes, but is by no means limited to, a certain number of "less than perfect" ministers of the Unitarian Universalist Association engaging in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape.

Unitarian Universalist Pedophiles And Rapists And National Standing On The Side Of Love Day 2013 - What's The Connection?

UUA President Peter Morales has kindly sent me an email directing my attention to this brand spanking new YouTube video entitled 'Happy National Standing on the Side of Love Day 2013!'

In this official UU Standing On The Side Of Love Campaign video UUA President Rev. Peter Morales says,

"Striving to make the world a better place requires spiritual work, it requires centering ourselves, connecting with others, and examining where we've been, and where we want to go together."

and

"We're actively engaged in sharing that love that speaks with our core values."

Without further ado here are the two comments that I just successfully posted in response to Rev. Peter Morales words, with some hyperlinks added to online evidence supporting what is said in my comments -

Peter,

Could you please explain to me, and a few hundred thousand Unitarian Universalists, how the UUA hiring Stikeman Elliott litigation lawyer Marc-André Coulombe to falsely accuse me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel on the *unfounded* aka unTrue basis that I have made "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" is "actively engaged in sharing that love that speaks with our core values"?

and

Peter,

How much "spiritual work" did you and other UUA leaders do before falsely accusing me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel on the basis of highly misleading bullshit? Indeed outright lies. How much centering of yourselves did you do? Did you connecting with "others" such as victims of UU clergy sexual misconduct? Did you responsibly examine where UU rapists & pedophiles have actually been? Did you examine where you & the UUA want to go together with such shameful legal bullying?

Here is the screenshot of my two comments as they were successfully posted to YouTube -

Mardi Gras 2013 And Unitarian Universalism's Mojo - What's The Connection?

I bet a whole lot of Unitarian Universalists aka UUs are scratching their heads and asking themselves,

"Just what *is* the connection between Mardi Gras and Unitarian Universalism's "mojo"?!!

Can UUs say Rev. Tom Schade?

Because, as it turns out. . . Fat Tuesday 2013 aka Mardi Gras 2013 is the ironically (in)appropriate day that UU minister Rev. Tom Schade chose the fate of publicly announcing that Unitarian Universalism has lost its mojo on his Twitter account.

Here is the exact quote -

Old School UUism, Tradition and Authenticity and the search for our lost mojo. #uu #uua #whatswrongwithus.

And here is the obligatory screenshot of Rev. Tom Schade's Tweet -

And here's the obligatory Austin Powers video clip courtesy of YouTube. . . :-)

Gotta love that #whatswrongwithus Twitter hashtag Rev. Schade dreamed up.

UUA Trustee Tom Loughrey Gets Asked A Big Fat U*U Question On Fat Tuesday aka Mardi Gras 2013

In a blog post entitled 'REPORT TO CONGREGATIONS – January 2013' on the official UUA Board Of Trustees blog, Pacific SouthWest District UUA Trustee Tom Loughrey has reposted the material that Pacific Central Distric UUA Trustee Linda Laskowski posted to the 'Why the UUA exists' post of her UUA View From Berkeley blog. Both blog posts identify the Big Fat U*U Ends that the UUA Board is supposedly working towards achieving in its questionable governance of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations aka UUA.

Without further ado here is the comment containing the Big Fat U*U Question that I asked UUA Trustee Tom Loughrey minutes ago, with grammar and typos corrected and hyperlinks added. . .

So Tom, perhaps you and other UUA Trustees can explain to a couple of hundred thousand Unitarian Universalists aka U*Us just how the UUA hiring Stikeman Elliott attorney Maitre Marc-André Coulombe to falsely accuse me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel on the unfounded basis that I have made "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" is moving local U*U communities, and the U*U World, towards more love, justice, and peace at a justifiable cost that does not undermine the long term sustainability of Unitarian Universalism. . .

How is such outrageously hypocritical, arrogantly hubristic, and utterly shameful Lance Armstrong style legal bullying on the part of that Big Fat U*U Institution known as the UUA invested in the future of U*Uism, its principles and theologies?

Do tell. . .

Giving Up Unitarian*Universalist U*U For Lent 2013

What better day than Mardi Gras 2013 aka Big Fat U*U Tuesday to publicly announce that The Emerson Avenger aka The U*U Enforcer is giving up use of Unitarian*Universalist aka U*U aka Big Fat U*U This, That, Or The Other Thing aka Big Fat U*U Fill In The Blank for Lent 2013. Yes, my Big Fat U*U Lenten Practice for 2013 is to give up (mis)using the Big Fat U*U Corporate Identity Acronym U*U aka "U Asterisk U" aka "U Ass-To-Risk U" that CU*UC aka "See U*U See" Executive Director Mary Bennett dreamed up almost a decade ago now which ever so U*Unilaterally inserted Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s "picture of an asshole" between the two Us of Unitarian Universalism to symbolize the self-vaunted inclusiveness of what Mary and other asinine U*U eh? leaders decided to call "The U*U Movement".

Yes, as much as it is a Big Fat U*U Sacrifice for him do so, after repeatedly examining his Big Fat U*U Conscience before God, The Big Fat U*U Scourge Of The U*U World has decided to take a cue from U*U seminarian Kim Hampton who gave up Unitarian Universalism for Lent in 2012, and ever so Universalist U*U Rev. Scott Wells who gave up Unitarian Universalism for Lent in 2011, by making a Big Fat U*U Pledge to cease and desist from using Mary Bennett's Big Fat U*U Acronym on The Emerson Avenger blog or in Tweets and internet comments etc. for the full duration of Lent 2013 starting on Ash Wednesday February 13th, 2012 until Saturday, March 30th, 2013. There *is* however one little caveat to my Big Fat U*U Pledge not to use Mary Bennett's visually intriguing, and ever so useful, Big Fat U*U Acronym and that is that I will continue to display Mary Bennett's U*U on my existing picket sign slogans, including some new ones I came up with recently and have yet to display. Of course it just would be Big Fat U*U Mardi Gras if I didn't go on a Big Fat U*U Binge of posting some images of my previous uses of Mary Bennett's U*U acronym.

Enjoy!

Unitarian Universalism Has No Coherent Spiritual Mission To Offer In Most UUA Congregations. . .

But don't take *my* word for it U*Us. . .

Take the word of Rev. Christine Robinson, the senior minister of the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, New Mexico, as posted in this comment responding to Rev. Tom Schade's 'Where I Stand' blog post about how 21st Century Unitarian Universalists "are powerful people, blinded by privilege, self-satisfied and politically inert" (not to mention legally inept. . .) and "a politically hyperactive mob of intolerant aging hippies trying to recreate the glory days of our youth."

Here is what Rev. Christine Robinson said verbatim. . .

"Besides the dysfunctions you mention in your piece that center around our understanding/misunderstanding of political theology, we suffer from having no coherent spiritual mission to offer in most of our congregations, especially in most of our lay-lead congregations. Most UU's can think of no OTHER good reason to gather than to change the world."

And here is how I responded to Rev. Robinsonson's comment -

"Most U*Us can't even do what is necessary to change the UU World for the better, let alone change the real world for the better. . .

In fact many Unitarian Universalists are responsible for causing harm in both the UU World and the real world while their fellow U*Us do little or nothing to call them to account."

Moral Mind Puzzle: UUA Protecting Abusive U*U Clergy By Controlling The Emerson Avenger's Public Criticism Thereof. . .

I will spare U*Us an explanatory intro. Without further ado here is my parody version of Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein's 'Moral Mind Puzzle: Controlling Women/”Protecting” Women' Peacebang blog post. The outrageously hypocritical U*U "pastor" known as Peacebang finds herself on The Emerson Avenger's "Eat Your Words" Diet yet again. . .

This is going to sound very Captain Obvious, but I’m trying to figure out how people who think that Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang is "free to express her opinions", including but not limited to her offensive, "threatening and defamatory", obscene, and even quite Sadistic Big Fat U*U Sodomy Fantasy imagining a Republican state senator "anally impaled on the Statue of Liberty's torch", and to freely "do so outside of her professional role as a minister serving a congregation", can accuse The Emerson Avenger of "threatening and defamatory conduct amounting to sexual harassment" of Peacebang for blog posts that criticize Peacebang's "sodomy fantasy".

I am trying to figure out for the life of me how UUA leaders could be passionately against The Emerson Avenger's right to freedom of expression and also be a defender of unlimited deeply insulting and even "threatening and defamatory" language spouted by Peacebang and other verbally and psychologically abusive U*U clergy.

I suppose this sort of person sees themselves as a protector or potential defender of "innocent" U*U clergy.

On a simplistic level, I see it. On the systemic level, however, it just doesn’t hold. There’s no logic to the argument that the UUA should be in the business of misusing and abusing the Canadian Criminal Code to outlaw a blogger that it thinks harasses U*U clergy, but should stay out of the business of protecting innocent people that are being verbally and psychologically abused by out of control U*U clergy.

I also experience brain pain trying to understand how any Unitarian Universalist can decide that all criticism of abusive U*U clergy is "harassment", always, but yet decide that MFC Rules and UUMA Guidelines are about protecting abusive U*U clergy, rather than holding them accountable for their abusive behavior.

I don’t think I’m making my case very well here, probably because I’m still struggling to put myself in those hypothetical Crazy U*U AssHats' shoes. Public criticism of abusive U*U clergy: bad, always "harassment", sinful, should be outlawed. U*U clergy verbal and psychological abuse: good, important, all about projecting U*U clergy image, should be available, UUA & MFC shouldn’t get involved.

Cognitive dissonance and moral confusion. I am still chewing on it because I am trying to imagine how Unitarian Universalists can have more productive conversations on these polarizing issues. Still stymied by the pro-Peacebang, anti-Robin Edgar people and am trying to reach a more generous conclusion than something like,

“They just want to control The Emerson Avenger while they themselves don’t want to be controlled in any way.”

What really made me barf was that arrogant Stikeman Elliott attorney Maitre Marc-André Coulombe who falsely accused The Emerson Avenger of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel on the unfounded basis that TEA has made "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape." Too late for that, pal. Some of those precious, sacred U*U clergy have actually used their own precious, sacred free will and precious, sacred U*U brains to decide for themselves that they want to be able to use their precious, sacred U*U penises to engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape. . . Not a choice I would make for myself but boy howdy, if they’re willing and able to do it on behalf of Unitarian Universalist clergy image, I’m just going to have to tell them they shouldn’t be allowed to. Speaking as a person with a penis myself, I’d rather be celibate than a precious and sacred U*U clergy rapist or pedophile.

All of this intersection between controlling The Emerson Avenger's blog posts, ostensibly protecting "women Unitarian Universalist ministers" from "sexual harassment", and Big Fat U*U Hypocritical Double Standards has me feeling bitchy.

Someday I’ll have something coherent to say that will tie all of this together. For now, at least I’ve put it out there. Thanks for listening.
