The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . "Slowly, slowly the Avenger comes, but comes surely." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

In 1992 I underwent a profound revelatory experience of God which revealed that the total solar eclipse "Eye of God" is a "Sign in the Heavens" that symbolizes God's divine omniscience. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan of the Unitarian Church of Montreal contemptuously dismissed as my "psychotic experience" here: http://revelationisnotsealed.homestead.com - This revelatory religious experience inspired me to propose an inter-religious celebration of Creation that would take place whenever a total solar eclipse took place over our planet. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan and other leading members of the Unitarian Church of Montreal falsely and maliciously labeled as a "cult" here: http://creationday.homestead.com - I am now an excommunicated Unitarian whose "alternative spiritual practice" includes publicly exposing and denouncing Unitarian*Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy. The Emerson Avenger blog will serve that purpose for me and hopefully others will share their concerns here. Dee Miller's term DIM Thinking is used frequently and appropriately on this blog. Rev. Dr. Megan Richardson And Unitarian Univeralism's Controversial & Shameful History Of U*U Clergy Sex Abuse Cover-Up And Denial - What's The Connection?

How about this plagU*Urized Tweet of Rev. Dr. Megan Richardson, Visiting Assistant Professor of Unitarian Universalist History at Starr King School for the Ministry, which exposes some quite recent Unitarian Univeralist history of UUA clergy sex abuse cover-up and denial that, like most hypocritical U*Us, Rev. Dr. Meg Richardson would very much like to keep hidden from her fellow U*Us and the general public?

While error exists in the world,

controversy is the only means left

of preserving or reviving truth .

~ British Unitarian minister Robert Aspland (1782-1845)

as remembered by his son, also a Unitarian minister, R. Brook Aspland

Rev. David Maynard And Unitarian Universalist Clergy Sexual Misconduct Cover-Up Legal Bullying - What's The Connection?

How about the fact that Rev. David Maynard threatened to sue Rev. Gail Seavey and possibly also the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association for apparently quite truthful evidence-based statements that Rev. Seavey made about Rev. Maynard's alleged, or indeed actual. . . clergy sexual misconduct, which included alleged or actual sexual harassment of Anna Belle Leiserson, and alleged or actual multiple "affairs" with FU*UN "church ladies", while Rev. David More Maynard was minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, Tennessee; thus legal bullying Rev. Gail Seavey and the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association into redacting aka "memory holing" portions of Rev. Gail Seavey's ironically titled 'If Our Secrets Define Us' 2016 Berry Street Essay.

I recently (re)found Rev. Gail Seavey's ironically titled 'If Our Secrets Define Us' 2016 Berry Street Essay on the website of Rev. Deborah Pope-Lance, with the "redacted" portions intact.

Here is a "telling" paragraph from the redacted aka "memory holed" portions of Rev. Gail Seavey's 'If Our Secrets Define Us' Berry Street Essay:

I realized that to successfully manage it I had to find a congregation that did not constantly press my buttons. I was called to serve First UU Church of Nashville, TN, where I still serve, now for eleven years. I was attracted to them because they were open about their history as a congregation that had suffered and healed from clergy misconduct. In 1993, a member complained to the board about sexualized behavior by the minister, David Maynard. Conny LaFerriere, a District Executive from California that the Southeast District asked to hold a hearing, recommended that they lodge a formal complaint to the UUA Ministerial Fellowship Committee. To make a complaint an individual had to identify oneself and only one person dared to do so, Anna Belle Leiserson, who reported that she had been sexually harassed. Those who had affairs with the minister choose to keep their involvement private. Rev. Maynard was found guilty of conduct unbecoming and resigned. The congregation split into two as some sought to protect Rev. Maynard’s ministry and others wanted him to leave. No one suffered more than Anna Belle who was harassed, bullied and shunned by the minister’s supporters. That first year, her hair turned pure white. She says that the attempts to exile her from the congregation were even more painful than the original betrayal by the minister. Healing began in the following year when First UU held a ‘Listening Process’ that allowed congregants to talk about their varied experiences and feelings, which was then published in a report in which everyone’s personal privacy was protected.

When I tried to compare the seemingly intact version of Rev. Gail Seavey's 2016 Berry Street Essay that is currently posted on Rev. Deborah Pope-Lance's website with the "redacted" version of 'If Our Secrets Define Us' on the website of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association aka UUMA, I discovered that Rev. Gail Seavey has "withdrawn her permission" for the UUMA to post the redacted version "If Our Secrets Define Us."

How ironic. . .

It is no longer possible to readily determine exactly what portions of

Rev. Gail Seavey's ironically titled 'If Our Secrets Define Us' Berry Street Essay were "redacted" aka "memory holed" as a result of Rev. David Maynard's clergy sexual misconduct cover-up legal bullying, because the "redacted" version of Rev. Seavey's 2016 Berry Street Essay has been completely "memory holed" from the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association's website thanks to Rev. Gail Seavey herself. . .

And so it goes U*Us. . .
