The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . In 1992 I underwent a profound revelatory experience of God which revealed that the total solar eclipse "Eye of God" is a "Sign in the Heavens" that symbolizes God's divine omniscience. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan of the Unitarian Church of Montreal contemptuously dismissed as my "psychotic experience" here: - This revelatory religious experience inspired me to propose an inter-religious celebration of Creation that would take place whenever a total solar eclipse took place over our planet. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan and other leading members of the Unitarian Church of Montreal falsely and maliciously labeled as a "cult" here: - I am now an excommunicated Unitarian whose "alternative spiritual practice" includes publicly exposing and denouncing Unitarian*Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy. The Emerson Avenger blog will serve that purpose for me and hopefully others will share their concerns here. Dee Miller's term DIM Thinking is used frequently and appropriately on this blog. The Unitarian Church Of Montreal Is Hereby Officially Recognized As A Center Of Learning On Ethical Issues. . .

In a blog post entitled 'Recognized as Centers of Learning on Ethical Issues' on her Nancy’s Views on the Landscape blog Nancy Heege says -

"A number of years ago, the Prairie Star District Board proposed Vision 2010, a vision for what our district could look like by 2010. The fourth goal was “a world which lives by UU principles.” One of the points under that goal was that “UU congregations are recognized as centers of learning on ethical issues.” While we have yet to see “a world which lives by UU principles,” we are making progress on the subpoint. Several congregations in Prairie Star District sponsor lecture series for the public, raising their profile in the community and inviting people into conversations about ethics, current events, and community life."

Here is my response to the above submitted as a comment to her "moderated" aka censored U*U blog -

Why would the rest of the world, i.e. the real world, want to live by U*U principles when so many U*Us, including U*U clergy and top level UUA leaders, abjectly fail and even obstinately refuse to genuinely honor and uphold U*U principles? Some U*U congregations, to say nothing of the UUA administration in Boston, could be recognized as centers of learning about what *not* to do on ethical issues. . .

end quote

Needless to say the Unitarian Church Of Montreal is amongst those U*U congregations that can serve as very public object lessons about what not to do on ethical issues such as anti-religious intolerance and bigotry, insulting and defamatory language and other verbal abuse, clergy misconduct, and censorship and suppression of legitimate criticism and dissent, to say nothing of other "less than ethical" behavior by outrageously hypocritical Unitarian*Universalist U*Us. The UUA administration at 25 Beacon Street in Boston hasn't done all that much better when it comes to responding to these and other moral and ethical issues in a manner that genuinely honors and upholds the Seven Principles and other claimed ideals of Unitarian*Universalism aka U*Uism. . .

Hence my picket sign slogan that says -

You Could Write A Manifesto AND Go To Church On Sunday. . . After All Jim David Adkisson Managed To Do That On Sunday July 27th 2008 Didn't He?

I realize that it is terribly politically incorrect for me to ask U*Us this question but. . .

Didn't Jim David Adkisson write a manifesto AND go to the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday July 27, 2008?

In light of the foregoing facts this somewhat amateurish but clearly well meaning U*UTube publicity video, which appears to have been produced by a certain Rev. Luddite months after domestic terrorist Jim David Adkisson's chosen fate of writing a manifesto and going to a U*U church one bloody Sunday, is "less than fortunate" at best.

An Open Letter About Clergy Sexual Misconduct to the UUA Presidential Candidates

Wow! In light of my blog post about the inhuman indifference of many Unitarian*Universalsist U*Us to victims of clergy misconduct and other U*U injusticss and abuses posted earlier tonight, the following blog post of an 'An Open Letter About Clergy Sexual Misconduct to the UUA Presidential Candidates' addressed to Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman and Rev. Peter Morales and publicly posted to the FUUN blog of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, Tennessee is really quite serendipitous, almost an online synchronicity of sorts. I had been planning to draft a letter addressed to both candidates asking similar questions myself. For now I will cross-post this Open Letter About Clergy Sexual Misconduct verbatim here so that more people get to see it and hopefully read it.

I will later post my take on it and draw up my own follow-up letter about clergy misconduct of all kinds, not just clergy sexual misconduct, and inquiring what Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman and Rev. Peter Morales intend to do in terms of providing restorative justice to all victims of clergy misconduct perpetrated by U*U ministers and perpetuated by the negligence and complicity of the congregations they serve and/or the UUA. I am very glad to see that the Denominational Affairs Committee of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville has written this letter and posted it publicly, thus making UUA handling of clergy sexual misconduct, to say nothing on non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct, a 2009 UUA Presidential campaign issue as I had intended to do myself. . . I for one look forward to seeing how UUA Presidential Candidates Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman and Rev. Peter Morales respond to the issues raised and the questions asked in this important Open Letter. I posting this Open Letter now but may add more about my take on it to this blog post later -

An Open Letter About Clergy Sexual Misconduct to the UUA Presidential Candidates

Rev. Peter Morales
By email to; and
Morales for UUA President
15321 W 66th Pl.
Arvada, CO 80007

Dear Rev. Morales and Rev. Hallman,

We write to you in the spirit of enhancing the democratic process in our Association in regard to the presidential election at General Assembly in June. We hope to learn from both of you what your positions are on issues of vital importance, helping ourselves and others be fully informed on these issues.

First, let us give you some background. As the Denominational Affairs Committee of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, we are some of the individuals in our congregation most involved with the Mid-South District (past and present officers) and the UUA (including members of the GA Planning and Volunteer Committees and the 1998 - 2000 Safe Congregations Panel, also known as the Muir Panel), as well as having four past presidents and many present and past board members of the congregation. It is our role to be a conduit for information between the congregation, the District and the UUA. As this matter concerns the election for president of the UUA, it falls in our sphere.

Our questions have to do with how you will provide leadership around the issue of clergy sexual misconduct. Before we get to the questions, we would like to say why we believe this is an important issue for you to address. We know this is a difficult topic. Because of our congregation’s history, we know that as deeply as any church in the Association. We also know that, just as with other types of abuse, silence is a large part of the pattern and that silence often endangers more victims, impeding both justice and healing. So, even though it is a difficult topic, it must be broached for the truth to come out and progress to be made.

Also, because of the structure of the Association and congregational polity, the areas of giving credentials to ministers and deciding when to take them away are unusual in being ones in which the UUA, through the staff led by the President, the board and the Ministerial Fellowship Committee, actually has the authority to take these actions. In this area, it is not a matter of the office of the UUA president being a bully pulpit or providing support to congregations or advocating for the issues we care about in the wider world; this is an area where one of you, together with your staff will be making decisions that determine the process in which the UUA deals with these issues, which in turn is likely to affect the outcome of the cases. We recognize that the MFC actually makes the final decisions.

You probably know that the UUA established a panel chaired by Rev. Frederic Muir that in 2000 made its report to the UUA entitled “Restorative Justice for All.” That document is still on the UUA web site. The panel made 13 recommendations of actions for the UUA. Many of them have never been carried out by the current administration. Others were only partially put in place.

Our first question to you is: if you are elected, will you carry out all 13 of the recommendations of that report? If so, on what time frame? If not, what will you do instead, with input from whom?

Secondly, is there anything else your administration will do to provide support and ministry both to victims of UUA clergy misconduct and to the congregations disrupted by it, and to decrease the likelihood of future misconduct?

To help others who are concerned about this issue, we will be posting this letter on our church web site, and we hope to post your responses there as well. We like to think of this as a small step in breaking the silence and hope you will join us in the effort. We hope that you will be able to either reply to us within a month or let us know when we can expect to hear from you. It occurs to us that at some point down the road if we have not heard from you, we may have to assume we will not be getting an answer, and we would rather not have to make that assumption.

We would like to thank you for the time you take in thinking about these issues and formulating your position. We believe the Association will benefit from your having done that.

Elie Weisel And George Bernard Shaw Join The U*U Jihad Army And Speak Out Against The Inhuman And Inhumane Indifference Of The U*Us. . .

This blog post was accidentally published prematurely but it will none-the-less stay up because I fully intended to complete it and publish it later today. Consider it a work in progress for now. It began as a comment responding to David G. Markham's Morning Meditation - Love and Hate Two Sides Of The Same Coin post on his UU A Way Of Life blog.

Perhaps taking a cue from Elie Weisel and/or George Bernard Shaw psychotherapist and "unchurched" Unitarian*Universalist David G. Markham said - "What is the opposite of caring? Not caring. So the opposite of love is indifference."

Here is my response to these insightful words -

I am pretty sure that that is what George Bernard Shaw was trying to get at when he said -

"The worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them: that's the essence of inhumanity."

In fact it was this well known saying of GBS, combined with the callous indifference of the Board and congregation of the Unitarian Church of Montreal, the UUA and its ever so aptly named Ministerial Fellowship Committee, and rather too many other Unitarian*Universalists to my own and other people's serious grievances that inspired me to come up with the saying -

Quite regrettably, it is all too human to be inhuman.

When I came up with this not so bon mot, some years ago now, I was thinking very much in terms of the indifference of Montreal Unitarians walking past my picket signs protesting against the anti-religious intolerance and bigotry of Rev. Ray Drennan and other self-described "Humanist" U*Us Sunday after Sunday for years without making the slightest attempt to redress my serious grievances. I was not thinking in terms of even worse forms of inhumanity but had GBS' saying very much in mind. It was only later that I discovered that Elie Weisel had been inspired to say something very similar as a result of his experiences in Nazi Germany. I believe that it is worthwhile posting some of what he has to say about the inhumanity of indifference here -

"In a way, to be indifferent to that suffering is what makes the human being inhuman. Indifference, after all, is more dangerous than anger and hatred. Anger can at times be creative. One writes a great poem, a great symphony, one does something special for the sake of humanity because one is angry at the injustice that one witnesses. But indifference is never creative. Even hatred at times may elicit a response. You fight it. You denounce it. You disarm it. Indifference elicits no response. Indifference is not a response.

Indifference is not a beginning, it is an end. And, therefore, indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor -- never his victim, whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten. The political prisoner in his cell, the hungry children, the homeless refugees -- not to respond to their plight, not to relieve their solitude by offering them a spark of hope is to exile them from human memory. And in denying their humanity we betray our own.

Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. And this is one of the most important lessons of this outgoing century's wide-ranging experiments in good and evil."

I wonder if the callously indifferent Unitarian*Universalists at the Unitarian Church of Montreal and 25 Beacon Street in Boston, to say nothing of elsewhere in the U*U World are proud of their inhuman(e) indifference to me and other victims of clergy misconduct and/or other U*U injustices and abuses?

Does UUA President Bill Sinkford Take The Seven Principles Seriously With Respect To The Worth And Dignity Of Victims Of Clergy Misconduct?

Welcome to the "Eat Your Words Diet" Bill. . .

Here are the comments that I left on this U*UTube video -

It sure would be nice if UUA President Bill Sinkford and other UUA leaders took the two U*U principles that he mentioned as well as the other 5 of the UUA's Seven Principles seriously when it comes to dealing responsibly with internal U*U injustices and abuses, including clergy misconduct of various kinds. Rev. Bill Sinkford and other UUA leaders like Rev. Tracey Robinson-Harris have proven themselves to be hypocrites when it comes to standing on the side of love for victims of clergy misconduct.

Unitarian*Universalists aka U*Us will understand why I gave this video a one star aka asterisk aka * rating.

Waging Peace With Robin Edgar A Pastoral Letter from UUA President Rev. William G. Sinkford That Is Unlikely To Be Written And Posted To U*UTube. . .

Waging Peace With Robin Edgar: A Pastoral Letter from Rev. William G. Sinkford

March 15, 2009

Dear Friends,

It has been thirteen long years of war and preoccupation in the U*U World. Thirteen years. Nearly a dozen U*U ministers "tarnished"; many more wounded and maimed. An unknown number of corpse-cold Unitarians, some estimate a 600,000; certainly hundreds of thousands. And thousands of good Unitarians displaced from U*U "churches".

Many of you, like me, have been ignoring and denying this war, since before it began.

There are some things we know:

We know that the slander of Robin Edgar and his marginalization were based on lies.

We know that the MFC chose to act negligently, disregarding U*U Principles and the UUMA Guidelines for the Conduct of Ministry.

We know that if there had been no bigoted atheists in the Unitarian Church of Montreal, and no abusive clergy in the U*U World, this war would never have taken place.

And we know that this war has squandered the reputation of this religion; squandered the sympathy and solidarity the rest of the world felt for U*Us thanks to our false and misleading advertising.

We know all of these things.

We know that the financial cost of this war, ultimately to be measured in millions of dollars, has made Unitarian*Universalism a tiny, declining, fringe religion.

But perhaps the greatest cost has been to the spirit, to the U*U soul of this religion.

We like to see ourselves as innocent. We like to see ourselves as fair, compassionate and kind. We like to see ourselves as freedom-loving and freedom-promoting. The War of the U*U World has stripped that self-image away from U*Us. Given our actions in Montreal and Boston, to say nothing of elsewhere in the U*U World, innocence is no longer an option for U*Us. We have been acting like assholes.

There is, of course, a value in faithlessness, a value in continuing to praise U*U choices. And I have to acknowledge that it would be hard for U*Us to engage in lamentation. It would be hard to simply responsibly acknowledge and apologize for the actions and the inactions aka negligence of UUA leaders.

As people of faith, U*Us have to go deeper.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes:

"In the U*U Movement there is a lot of anger, frustration, and misunderstanding. The U*U Movement can write very good protest letters, but they are not yet able to write a love letter."

What would a love letter to victims of clergy misconduct look like? For me, such a letter would move beyond victim blaming and search for a grain of truth. For me, such a letter would lift up a vision of what U*Uism can become, as well as acknowledge who U*Us are.

The first paragraph would call our religion to confession. U*Us need to acknowledge that we made a huge mistake by invading Robin Edgar's space and that, as a result, the U*U World is a more dangerous place today than it was thirteen years ago. And we need to ask understanding and forgiveness for our mistake.

We should tell the U*U World, and ourselves, that we are now willing to move into right relationship with Robin Edgar, other victims of clergy misconduct, and victims of other U*U injustices and abuses. We need to promise to hold the values of justice, equity, compassion, and honesty in high regard. We should promise to search for win-win, not we-win solutions.

We might tell the U*U World that religious differences can be a blessing, not a curse. And that the heart of all of the world's great faith traditions, including those "obsolete religions" that Rev. Peter Morales talks about, rests in the power of love, not hate.

The U*U World should hear from us that the interdependent web of existence does not exist only outside our borders.

And I would tell the world, and ourselves, that we want not only to reclaim the image, but to create the reality of U*Unitarians as fair, compassionate and kind people. We want to become the kind of people we thought we were.

As a person of faith, I know that peace will not come because we simply ignore Robin Edgar, or even prey upon him.

Peace will only come when we begin to embody it, when we begin to make it real in our personal lives and in the life of this religion by waging peace with Robin Edgar and other victims of U*U injustices and abuses.

Although we are marking thirteen years of war, this is the season of rebirth and renewal, the season which every year offers the promise of the transformation of despair into hope. This can be a time of hope. This can be a time when we commit ourselves to the creation of the Beloved Community by standing on the side of love for Robin Edgar and all other victims of U*U clergy misconduct.

May we hold the vision of what can be in our hearts. It can see us through.

In bad faith,

William G. Sinkford

How Many Flavors Of Asshole Is Montreal Unitarian U*U Juan Vera ChaliceChick?

Just asking, as they say. . .

As a result of running a Google search on -

Was Peacebang born an asshole?

in contemplation of adding a link or two to the lyrics of Jimmy Buffet's 'The Asshole Song' a couple of TEA posts below this one I came across an old blog post by U*Uberblogger ChaliceChick, quite ironically titled CC's beefs with UUs focussing too much on politics', in which she also complains about a member of her church focussing to much on her personally by taking a photograph of her in spite of the fact that she expressly asked him not to take her photograph. Here is her take on *that*, "I'm sorry a guy has to be 31 Flavors of asshole to stand there taking pictures as someone says "Please don't take my picture. PLEASE don't take my picture...")"

And here is the comment that I left in a somewhat belated response to that almost four year old ass*ertion of ChaliceChick.

And then of course there's Montreal Unitarian U*U asshole Juan Vera who does a weird variation on that theme by marching up to me while I am videoing my protest activities in front of the Unitarian Church of Montreal for U*UTube purposes and demanding that I take his photo just so that he can call the police to complain about it. . . How many flavors of asshole is that? This U*U U*Ultarmaroon never did call the police either, even though I repeatedly suggested that he go ahead and do so.

In that we have been recently discussing my alleged spitting in the 'Water Communion' bowl it doesn't hurt to post the first U*UTube video of Juan Vera in which he repeatedly challenges me to take his photo and then moves on to other matters including bringing up my allegedly "disruptive" sharing of my personal water by wetting my finger by placing it in my mouth and then swishing my saliva coated finger in the 'Water Communion' bowl. For the record, this alleged "disruptive" behavior took place in the fall of 1998 *after* I had already been suspended from attending services at the Unitarian Church of Montreal for six months for the alleged "disruptive behavior" of leaving some letters of grievance in the church mailboxes of the Board members and other leaders of the alleged Unitarian Church of Montreal.

My "philosophical discussion" with Juan Vera regarding my alleged spitting in the 'Water Communion' bowl, and the truth and meaning of my picket sign slogans etc. continues in the second video clip which is well worth watching as well, so I am embedding it along with the first one below. The issue of taking photographs and/or video of people without their express permission to do so, or even disregarding their requests or demands not to take their photo or video, is quite pertinent to CC's comment and the broader context of taking photos and videos of people without their permission for documentary and/or "news-gathering" purposes, to say nothing of surveillance purposes. So U*Us might want to browse though the other U*UTube videos of my discussion with Montreal Unitarian U*U Juan Vera that are available on my U*UTube Channel aka YouTube Channel. Here are the other two videos in chronological order - Juan Vera 3 * Juan Vera 5 There is no Juan Vera 4 because he was inside the alleged "church", ostensibly calling the police, when I shot the fourth video in the series.

The 2009 UUA Presidential Election, And Probably Unitarian*Universalist "Democracy" More Generally, According To Steve Caldwell

U*U blogger Steve Caldwell has commented on Rev. Dan Harper's blog post entitled 'Choose one for UUA president: Hallman | Morales'. Steve's rather cynical take on the 2009 UUA Presidential election campaign is worth repeating here verbatim, and it is of particular interest to the Rev. Dr. Eric Theodore Cartman III. . .

I get the feeling that voting in the 2009 UUA Presidential Election will matter about as much as Stan’s vote for school mascot in the the South Park episode “Douche and Turd.

Of course, we’re not facing a choice between a “giant douche” and a “turd sandwich” like Stan did in South Park. In that sense, we’re much more fortunate than Stan.

Both candidates are decent folks who are supported by decent folks (based on what I’ve seen in snail mail, Facebook, endorsements on candidate web sites, etc).

However, I do get the feeling that the decision about who will be the next UUA President was decided in a “smoke-filled back room” prior to the 2009 GA (even though the back room was probably a smoke-free room with fair trade coffee and hummus instead of tobacco smoke and booze).

Jimmy Buffet Buffets The Hole-Wide U*U World Tonight With 'The Asshole Song'. . .

Well I was drivin' down I-95 the other night.
Somebody nearly cut me right off the road.
I decided it wasn't gonna do any good to get mad.
So I wrote a song about him instead.
It goes like this...

Were U*U born an asshole?
Or did U*U work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause U*U're an asshole tonight.

Yes U*U're an A*S*S*H*O*L*E...
And don't U*U try to blame it on me.
U*U deserve all the credit.
U*U're an asshole tonight.

U*U were an asshole yesterday.
U*U're an asshole tonight.
And I've got a feelin'
U*U'll be an asshole the rest of U*Ur life. . .

And I was talkin' to U*Ur mother*
just the other night.
I told her I thought U*U were an asshole.
She said, "Yes. I think U*U're right."

And all U*Ur friends are assholes
'cause U*U've known them U*Ur whole life.
And somebody told me
U*U've got an asshole for a wife.

Were U*U born an asshole?
Or did U*U work at it U*Ur whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause U*U're an a*a*a*ass... hole tonight.

Rev. Dr. Tracey Robinson-Harris Resigns As Director Of The Congregational Services Department Of The UUA

A UU World blog post titled 'UUA cuts staff, reorganizes departments to balance budget' informs Unitarian*Universalist U*Us U*U World-wide and The Emerson Avenger that -

"The Rev. Tracey Robinson-Harris, director of Congregational Services, announced by email on March 11 that she had resigned and would be leaving the UUA at the end of June."

I guess she saw the writing on the wall or something. . .

Or maybe Rev. Dr. Tracey Robinson-Harris saw the light shed by the last gleamings of the Statue Of Liberty's torch as U.S. Senator Bill Napoli was anally impaled on it by Peacebang The Impaler aka Vicki She-Wolf of the U*Us aka Rev. Victoria Weinstein.

Herewith a serendipitous U*Update for U*Us U*U World-wide. . . ;-)

Peacebang aka Rev. Victoria Weinstein Was Sort Of, Like, Straight Up Busted Yet Again By The Emerson Avengah aka *The* Rev. Dr. Eric T. Cartman III

Some people never learn. . .

Without further ado here is the comment that I just posted to Rev. Victoria Weinstein's 'I Was Sort Of, Like, Straight Up Busted' blog post on her Peacebang blog with some corrected typos and in*appropriate embedded hyperlinks -

:The irrational nature of some of these critiques definitely falls under the “You Can’t Say That That Way, You’re a GIRL!” category.

Well *my* critiques of your insulting and defamatory language and/or crude and even obscene “vindictive fantasies”* are far from irrational Peacebang aka *Reverend* Victoria Weinstein. For the broken U*U record, my critiques fall into the “You Can’t Say That That Way, You’re a U*U MINISTER!” category. . . Of course we all know that you and other “less than excellent” U*U ministers *can* in fact “Say That That Way” because stunningly incompetent, grossly negligent, and effectively complicit top level UUA officials like Rev. Dr. Tracey Robinson-Harris and Rev. Beth Miller abjectly fail and even obstinately refuse to *real* in insulting and otherwise verbally abusive U*U ministers. As long as the UUA and its ever so aptly named Ministerial *Fellowship* Committee allow you and other abusive U*U clergy to get away with character assassination and other forms of verbal “murder” The Emerson Avenger will be on your big fat hypocritical U*U ass and putting you on his U*U World famous “Eat Your Words Diet” Peacebang.

American Religious Identification Survey ARIS 2008 Lumps Unitarian*Universalism In With Scientology, New Age, Spiritualism, Eckankar and Santeria

In its section titled 'The Taxonomy of the Religious Traditions' the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS 2008) says the following -

"The long list of religious classifications supplied by ARIS respondents’ calls for a shorter, more manageable list for most analytical purposes. Therefore, for Table 3 the ARIS respondents have been collated into the following 13 religious groupings of varying sizes:"

Guess where the tiny, declining, fringe religion known as Unitarian*Universalism aka The U*U Movement ends up? Unitarian*Universalism gets lumped into the 11th category out of 13, the 'New Religious Movements and Other Religions' category which also includes Scientology, New Age, Eckankar, Spiritualism, Deism, Wiccanism, Neo-Paganism, Druidism, "Indian Religion" which I presume means Native American religion, Santeria, and Rastafarianism. The 12th category is 'Nones: None, No religion, Humanistic, Ethical Culture, Agnostic, Atheist, Secular.' and the 13th one is 'Refused: Don’t Know.' When, if ever, will U*Uism aka The U*U Movement aka Unitarian*Universalism grow in size to the point that it deserves a ranking of its own? Just how does UUA Presidential candidate Rev. Peter Morales propose to "grow" The U*U Movement from the "tiny, declining, fringe religion" that he acknowledges it is today into "the religion of our time" within *our* time?

Sexual Assault In The U*U Ministry. . . U*UJNS Massachusetts Fires A Somewhat Embarrassing Broadside At The Beacon Broadside Blog

The U*U Jihad Navy's refitted Iowa Class battleship U*UJNS Massachusetts just fired a "less than full", but none-the-less somewhat embarrassing. . . broadside at the Beacon Broadside blog minutes ago.

Here is the comment submitted to a Beacon Broadside blog post entitled -

So when will you do a link round-up including links to stories about sexual assault in the ministry prey tell?

No doubt it will never see the light of day in the U*U blogosphere because the good U*Unitarians running the Beacon Press will deem it to be either disrespectful or irrelevant to the discussion or both.

Judith Evans Chases Up Some British Unitarian "Snakes" In The Guardian For St. Patrick's Day

Nothing like chasing up some U*U "snakes" in the British Isles aka the United Kingdom on St. Patrick's Day. . . Here is a comment about the truth and meaning of contemporary Unitarian*Universalism that I just freely and responsibly submitted to a Judith Evans 'Comment Is Free' Opinion Editorial titled 'Strength in unity?' and questioningly, if not questionably, subtitled 'Unitarians are radically open-minded. But do they offer more than simply a religion of everything and nothing?' that was published in The Guardian, even if it is already tomorrow over there. . . I have corrected some typos and will add some embedded hyperlinks at my in*discretion later -

18 Mar 09, 1:04am

Judith Evans sure picked a good day to point out some of the "snakes" in the Unitarian "Church". . . With any luck this Guardian article will help to chase these "serpents" out of what famous X-Unitarian Ralph Waldo Emerson once described as "corpse-cold Unitarianism". Hardly a paragraph gets written that does not touch upon the fact that British Unitarians have pretty much replaced a once respected monotheistic religion with secular humanist politics. Much of this story could just as easily apply to Canadian Unitarians and American Unitarian*Universalists, to say nothing of Unitarian*Universalists elsewhere in the so-called U*U World.

If only Unitarians could refrain from booing, hissing and rattling at those who they perceive as villains. I would not be surprised at all if Andrew Pakula delivered this sermon precisely because he is well aware of how Unitarian*Universalists, including U*U clergy and prominent lay leaders such as the "Life President" of the Padiham Unitarians Joyce Thompson, quite regularly boo and hiss, and insult and defame, those people they perceive as "villains" in spite of their pretense of affirming and promoting the inherent worth and dignity of every human being.

I am not the least bit surprised that Silverwhistle found Unitarianism appealing and felt comfortable with many aspects of it. Contemporary Unitarianism has been heavily influenced by secular humanism aka atheism. Many Unitarian ministers are atheists and some of them, along with no shortage of U*U lay members, have all the tolerance and respect for God believing people as that pompous ASS* Richard Dawkins. . . Imagine coming to a Unitarian Church one Sunday only to hear the fundamentalist atheist, if not Atheist Supremacist, "pastor" dogmatically asserting that God is "a non-existent being" and preaching to the proverbial choir of "Humanist" U*Us that belief in God seems primitive. Imagine trying to discuss a profound spiritual experience of one kind or another with your U*U minister and, at best, being politely ignored and brushed off by an atheist "pastoral specialist" who is neither ready, nor willing, nor even able to *minister* appropriately to you and, at worst, being contemptuously labeled as psychotic and facing angry demands from a self-described "pastoral specialist" to seek "professional help" immediately. Yes, everything I have related here has actually happened in the U*U World. These are not hypothetical "scenarios", these are actual events that have occurred, and they are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg of what I and other God believing people have reasonable grounds to call "corpse-cold Unitarianism", just as Ralph Waldo Emerson did over a century ago now.

The Unitarian*Universalist Association of Congregations was described as "the Church of the Far Left" by The Oregonian newspaper when the UUA held its annual general assembly in Portland Oregon in 2007. American Unitarian*Universalists have no qualms as describing themselves as "the religious arm of the Democratic Party." Perhaps British Unitarians might be quite reasonably described as the religious arm of the Labour Party. Left-wing politics have effectively replaced "liberal religion" in most if not all of the Unitarian Church world-wide, and I say that as a moderate political and religious liberal who usually votes for the Liberal Party or New Democratic Party in Canadian federal elections.

For all their empty talk about hating the sin, not the sinner, Unitarian*Universalists display plenty of hate towards their perceived enemies, be they God believing people who expect to be as welcome as anyone else in the so-called "Unitarian Church", or political conservatives who are far from genuinely welcome in U*U "Welcoming Congregations". The openness of U*Unitarians is greatly exaggerated and their "edge" can be quite painful, and even quite damaging, when they have an axe to grind with you. . . I know this from bitter personal experience of the anti-religious intolerance and bigotry of secular "Humanist" Unitarians, but many others can say the same thing.

I am not a political conservative but some U*U attacks on Republicans and other conservatives can be properly described as hateful and hate-filled, if not outright hate speech. . . Here is just one recent example of it -

As I rule I am someone who really is very tolerant but I will not tolerate the obvious intolerance of outrageously hypocritical Unitarian*Universalists be it manifested in Canada, the U.S.A, the United Kingdom, or anywhere else in the so-called U*U World. Their intolerance insults my intelligence. . . I have been exposing and denouncing U*U anti-religious intolerance and bigotry and other U*U injustices, abuses and hypocrisy for over a decade now, and will continue to do so until such time as U*Us stop passing me the ammunition of their own intolerant words and actions.

The Fruit Avenger Is Not To Be ConfU*Used With The Emerson Avenger aka The Emerson Avengah aka The *REAL* U*U Enforcer. . .

Just saying. . .

The Emerson Avenger had no idea that The Fruit Avenger existed until minutes ago. . . It would appear that, in spite of being quite a colorful character, The Fruit Avenger may be a 97% White WASU*U aka a White U*U who needs to be multi-culturally colored in a bit.

From A Flaming Chalice To An Aging Condom - The Brand Spanking New Religious Symbol Of Unitarian*Universalism aka The U*U Movement

The Unitarian*Universalist Association Of Congregations aka the UUA officially announced today that it is changing its "corporate identity" religious symbol from The Flaming Chalice to The Aging Condom because it more accurately reflects The U*U Movement's religious stance, to say nothing of its aging demographic. . .

An aging condom allows for wishful thinking aka false hopes for growth, halts reproduction*, destroys the next generation*, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives U*Us a false sense of security while U*Us are actually being screwed.

To my fellow U*Unitarians, it really doesn't get much more accurate than this.

This cheap shot that U*Us can believe in has been plagU*Urized from Ozdach's appropriately entitled 'Dangerous Common Sense' blog. :-)

A Reality Check For Peacebang aka Rev. Victoria Weinstein And U*Us U*U World-Wide

Filed In Peacebang Persona. . .

Waiter, Peacebang will have her reality check, please!

U*Urthlings®, just a brief momento to say that PeaceBang seems terribly unaware of her unbecoming conduct. She seems terribly unaware that many U*U churches are hurting from her "less than virtual" virtU*Ual reality and that her friends and parishioners, her Significant Others, family members and neighbors are getting red faces, taking cuts in reputation aka tarnished images, or generally up nights worrying about how to make Peacebang come to her senses, how to pray for sanity, or how to stop worrying and learn to love The Emerson Avenger.

Despite these realities, *this* blog is determined to stay fun *and* fairly serious in that it will continue to focus on exposing and denouncing U*U injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy, even if that includes humorously plagU*Urizing and otherwise parodying Peacebang and other "less than excellent" U*U ministers. Not Financial Tips (unless it is to write about such things as they relate to UUA Financial Problems, Clergy Misconduct and/or Anti-Religious Bigotry and/or Anti-Republican Intolerance and/or Well U*Us Get The Idea. . . No?), not Theological Reflections About The Current Crisis, and not about Saving Your Big Fat U*U Ass When One U*U Minister Is Very Happily Unbecoming In His And/Or Her Conduct.

The Emerson Avenger figures that U*Us can get those features elsewhere and in the meantime he will remain focused on his mission here, which is the de*fucked*up*ization of "The U*U Movement" aka *The* Tiny Declining Fringe Religion aka The UnReligion®.

Hang tough, U*Us.

Kiss of Death*,

The Emerson Avenger

* Paranoid or otherwise "worried" Unitarian*Universalist U*Us need not worry about a *real* kiss of death involving firearms, or any other item that may be reasonably defined as a weapon (with the possible exception of the proverbial pen in the form of my "obsolete" but none-the-less awesomely powerful X86 Pentium computer), from The Emerson Avenger. I am just figuratively "killing" two or more U*U bird*brains with one figurative "stone" here. Most notably by mocking Peacebang's Beauty Tips For Ministers and the dU*Ubious 'Weapons Policy' of the Franklin Unitarian*Universalist Fellowship, although there are a couple of other things that I can think of as well.

Et Tu Peacebang? Rev. Dr. Eric Theodore Cartman III PlagU*Urizes The *Real* Eric Theodore Cartman. . .

'Peacebang Is A Bitch*' by Rev. Dr. Eric Theodore Cartman III

'Kyle's Mom's A Bitch' lyrics plagU*Urized from South Park: Bigger, Longer Uncut : Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture

Peacebang's a bitch*, she's a big fat bitch
She's the biggest bitch in the whole wide U*U World
She's a stupid bitch, if there ever was a bitch
She's a bitch to all the boys and girls!

Monday she's a bitch
On Tuesday she's a bitch
On Wednesdays and Saturdays she's a bitch
Then on Sunday, just to be different
She's a super king kamaya maya beeeyotch!

Have you ever met my friend Peacebang?
She's the biggest bitch in the whole wide U*U World
Shes a mean old bitch, and she has stupid hair
She's a bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch...
Bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch

She's a stupid bitch
Peacebang's a bitch
And she's just a dirty bitch!

Talk to ministers around the U*U World,
and it might go a little bit something like this. . .

(Weirdass shit)

Have U*Us ever met my friend Peacebang
She's the biggest bitch in the whole wide U*U World
Shes a mean old bitch, and she has stupid hair
She's a bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch...
Bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch

I really mean it
Rev. Victoria Weinstein
She's big fat fucking bitch*!
Big old fat fucking bitch
Peacebang........ bit-cha!!

* For the broken U*U record Peacebang aka Rev. Victoria Weinstein long ago told me that she is known as a bitch throughout the U*U World. I don't know if she meant that in general terms or if she just meant that she was a famous big fat U*U bitch amongst her professional colleagues. Peacebang aka Vicky She-Wolf of the U*Us actually seemed to be quite proud of her reputation as *the* bitch of the U*U World. So *I* am kind of expecting her to take this plagU*Urization of Eric Cartman's anthem 'Kyle's Mom's A Bitch' as a compliment. It's *my* way of affirming and promoting Peacebang's apparent dearth of dignity. . .

U*Us Know The Drill. . . For U*U Eyes Only The U*U Jihad Secret Weapons Development Department Is Pleased To Announce It's Latest Secret Weapon. . .

The U*U Jihad Secret Weapons Development Department is mightily pleased to announce it's latest Secret Weapon to the whole-wide U*U World. Taking a "both/and/or/or reversed"* cue from General Motors' aka GM's marketing of the "Humvee" (from "HMMWV" a military term for "High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle") military vehicle to civilians in the form of the Hummer, the multi-talented, to say nothing of multi-sexual, Rev. Dr. Eric Theodore Cartman III has successfully completed some "less than obvious" but really quite significant body modification to his real world famous civilian Hippie Drill vehicle to bring it up to the stringent requirements of the U*U Jihad Armed Forces. All materials and components of what *was* the Rev. Dr. Eric Cartman's previously road tested Hippie Drill have been replaced with military grade materials and components that meet the 21st Century aka NU*U Millennium needs of the U*U Jihad Army Engineers.

Most of these modifications cannot be revealed but we can reveal that Eric Cartman's Hippie Drill, now known U*U World-wide as the U*U Drill or, more truthfully and accurately, the U*U Anal Probe Drill aka the U*U Anal Probe Machine, has been fitted with military grade ARMOR GARD® steel plate armour from Heflin. Armor Gard® is most commonly compared to Mil-A-46100 armour plate for its ballistic defeating properties and is used in a wide variety of armouring applications including U*U Jihad Military projects such as the U*U Drill. Heflin's Quality Assurance department assures the U*U Jihad Army that absolutely nothing aka love will ever penetrate the Armor Gard® protected U*U Drill while it is busy penetrating diverse targets in the U*U World. In fact a U*U Jihad mole in Heflin's Quality Assurance department let it be known to The Emerson Avenger that the "less than secret" impenetrable firewall around the corpse-cold U*Unitarian heart of UUA Ministerial Fellowship Committee Executive Secretary Rev. Beth Miller is made from half-inch thick Mil-I-45208A Armor Gard® armour. . . That's what *I* call impressive!

For reasons known only to The Emerson Avenger aka The Dagger Of Sweet Reason the U*U Drill aka the U*U Anal Probe Drill will most probably be first seen in the U*U World by some terrified U*U eyes at the First Unitarian*Universalist Church of Indianapolis aka the UUI. U*U Jihad Army military strategists are currently studying the 'Weapons Policy' of the Unitarian*Universalist Fellowship of Franklin, North Carolina, which states -

No items, concealed or not, that can be reasonably defined as weapons may be brought onto the buildings and grounds which comprise The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Of Franklin, North Carolina

U*U Jihad military strategists are convinced that the U*U Drill aka the U*U Anal Probe Machine can be no more, or indeed no less. . . reasonably defined as a weapon than the Statue of Liberty's torch can be reasonably defined as a weapon. In any case, even if the U*U Drill *can* be reasonably defined as a weapon by ever so "progressive" paranoid Unitarian*Universalists, the FU*UC's 'Weapon's Policy' aka 'No Weapons Policy' only speaks about weapons that may be brought *onto* the buildings and buildings and grounds which comprise Franklin Unitarian*Universalist Congregation aka compound. The FU*UC's 'Weapon's Policy' aka 'No Weapons Policy' says absolutely nothing aka love about weapons that may be brought *into* the buildings and grounds which comprise the FU*UC of Franklin, North Carolina, from underground. . . Quite frankly, the attitude of quite pragmatic U*U Jihad Army general Rhett Butler, who takes after General George S. Patton and other "less than soft spoken" generals who carry big sticks and even get into pissing matches with skunks on the odd occasion, is summed up in the following pithy statement -

"Frankly*n, my dear, I don't give a damn."

As far as U*U Jihad Army Engineers are concerned aka AFAU*UJAEAC, the U*U *Drill* aka the U*U Anal Probe *Machine* is more reasonably described as a tool than as a weapon. :-)

Praise The Lord! And Ray Grigg For Passing The U*U Jihad Navy More Ammunition, On Sunday December 7th 2008, The 67th Anniversary Of Pearl Harbour. . .

The Dagger Of Sweet Reason aka The Emerson Avenger is one of those "go with the flow" kind of guys, which can come in very handy when you are the Supreme Commander of the U*U Jihad Navy. . .

The following U*U ammunition quite serendipitously, and less than luckily for "less than lucky" U*Us, flowed into The Emerson Avenger's hands minutes ago. It is the synopsis of a Sunday sermon delivered to the Comox Valley Unitarians by Taoist U*U Ray Grigg on Sunday, December 7th, 2008, the 67th Anniversary of the Japanese Navy's "less than advisable" sneak attack on Pearl Harbour, Honolulu, Hawaii which *officially* provoked the "less than sleeping" sleeping giant of the United States of America to enter that other War of the World, World War II, not to be confU*Used with World War U*U, aka The War of the U*U World. . .

Herewith, with no further ado or "to do" the synopsis of Ray Grigg's Sunday lecture with in*appropriate embedded hyperlinks courtesy of the Stealth submarines aka Stealth U*U-Boats of the U*U Jihad Navy -

"Cognitive Dissonance & Perfection" with Ray Grigg.

The theory of cognitive dissonance describes how we try to reduce discomfort by choosing the reality that creates the least anxiety. Facts and objectivity are not necessarily our choices of preference. Indeed, evidence can be optional if it doesn't concur with our comfort. And once we find this comfort, then we tenaciously hold on to it even in the face of overwhelming, opposing evidence. Ray will then go on to discuss the historical and religious beliefs about perfection which has caused dissonance and suggests that we rethink our ideas of perfection as a means of coming to new insights and awareness as we attempt to resolve the paradoxes we encounter in ordinary life. Ray is the popular columnist of "Shades of Green" in the North Islander, is a published author of seven books on Taoism and Zen and former director on the Advisory Council for the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society at the University of Victoria.

Marvin Haave And Comox Valley Unitarians Get "Less Than Lucky" On Friday The Thirteenth aka Friday The 13th Of March, 2009

Gotta love GOogle News Alerts! No U*Us?

Marvin Haave, who is a former Lutheran pastor according to a news article entitled 'The world needs more Unitarians?', originally published in the Comox Valley Echo echo echo echo eco eco eck oh oh. . . that came to the attention of The Emerson Avenger minutes ago thanks to yet another Unitarian*Universalist GOogle News Alert, will address aka lecture the regular service aka Sunday service of the Comox Valley Unitarian Fellowship on the questionable subject of 'The World Needs More Unitarians?' on Sunday March 15th aka The Ides Of March. . . at 4 pm aka traditional English tea time, albeit not according to TEA time which will actually be around 7 pm at *that* time in British Columbia aka BC.

LU*Utheran Marvin Haave
will less than surprisingly, aka all too predictably, maintain that the real world, to say nothing of the U*U World. . . needs more Unitarians aka Unitarian*Universalists aka U*Us because in a time of warfare, strife, environmental degradation and financial meltdown we need people who are committed to living principled lives and being active in improving this world of ours. Unitarians are committed to this life, to the well-being of all peoples and, in fact to all animate and inanimate beings. Given that Unitarians welcome people of all faiths or non-faiths and encourage people to 'walk their talk' in terms of social justice and civic duty, Marvin feels that the world needs to attract more people to the Unitarian movement who are also working for some fundamental changes.

Marvin is a former Lutheran pastor who was drawn to the non-denominational and 'activist' nature of the Unitarians.

Do U*Us Dread Friday The 13th? The Luck Of The Unitarian*Universalists aka The Luck Of The U*Us On Friday The Thirteenth Of March, 2009. . .

Just for the Hell of it I ran a Google search for Unitarian*Universalists on "Friday The 13th". . . The second search result for that Google search was somewhat "less than surprisingly" a The Emerson Avenger blog post about *one* "less than lucky" aspect of the more generally "less than lucky" and indeed "less than safe" UNSAFE SECT known as Unitarian*Universalism. Specifically, it was a "less than brand*spanking new" but none-the-less really quite recent blog post ever so lovingly DEVO*ted to whipping hypocritical U*U butt over the Anti-Conservative and Anti-Republican Hate Speech variant of Big Fat U*U Wind of *some* intolerant, hostile, and indeed hateful aka hate-filled Unitarian*Universalist U*Us that *probably* at least partially motivated a *really* "less than lucky" whirlwind in Knoxville Tennessee in the form of Jim David Adkisson's shotgun blasts at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. . .

I am not really laughing my ass off over that. That tragic "overkill" reaction to the "liberal" rhetoric of the U*Us, to say nothing of hateful and/or hate-filled anti-conservative U*U Wind. . . is not really funny at all; although it does hold more than a little bit of, indeed several levels of, karmic irony. No, what I am *really* laughing *my* big fat XUU, and thankfully very luckily pre-U*U, ass off at is the current top level, aka Number One, aka No. 1, aka # 1, Google search result that at this time would go directly, don't pass GO*ogle, to the website of the Abraham Lincoln Unitarian*Universalist Congregation of Springfield, Illinois, if a U*U entered - Unitarian*Universalists on "Friday The 13th" - into GOogle's search terms window and then dared to click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. . . Why am I laughing my ass off at that U*Us ask? Just run a GOogle search on the question Was Abraham Lincoln a Unitarian*Universalist? and see just what The Emerson Avenger blog post about former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln is right under the ass of the less than chosen fates of aka lots of ALUUC. :-)

I am *also* laughing my U*U off at the fact that a blog post of Yet Another "Less Than Lucky" Unitarian*Universalist U*U known U*U World-wide as *the* Rev. Daniel Harper aka *the* Rev. Dan Harper aka Mr. CrankyPants aka Rev. CrankyAss, titled 'Friday The 13th?' in an ever so Unitarian questioning manner is just under *my* ass in GOogle rankings for that "less than lucky" GOogle search.

Maybe *some* sU*Uperstitious Triskaidekaphobic U*Us do dread Friday The 13th after all. . . The dreaded Dark Knight of the U*U World known U*U World-wide as The Emerson Avenger would like to believe aka wishfully think that he is doing his little bit to affirm and promote the sU*Uperstitious Triskaidekaphobia of the U*Us aka the Friday the 13th Phobia of the U*Us.

Is Unitarian*Universalism A Sect? Are U*Unwitting Unitarian*Universalists Thus Members Of A Sect? Inquiring aka Enquiring Minds Want To Know. . .

Somebody from New York, New York was just asking Google today. . .

The Google search results which responded to that ever so Unitarian question posed by his and/or her inquiring mind aka enquiring mind led that particular person to my "less than brand*spanking new", but otherwise quite recent, The Emerson Avenger blog post titled -

Is Unitarian*Universalism An "UNSAFE SECT"?! UUA Negligence And Incompetence In Responding To Clergy Misconduct And Other U*U Safety Issues Make It So.

Anyone, Unitarian*Universalist U*U or otherwise, who objects to or otherwise questions my use of the word sect to describe *The* Tiny Declining Fringe Religion known as Unitarian*Universalism, should enter into a genuinely free and responsible search for the truth and meaning of the word sect in any decent English dictionary, while they are at it they *might* want to look up its French equivalent in a French language dictionary or the French Wiképedia or this website titled, 'Qu'est-ce qu'une secte ? etc.' for that matter. . . U*Us guessed it. Up here in Montréal Québec, Canada, where French aka la langue Français is the "langue du jour" as it were, the word sect aka secte (plural sectes) has a somewhat deeper meaning if not truth to it that it may not have elsewhere in America. Not that a good number of good Bostonians didn't get some knowing smiles and a good chuckle or two when I very publicly displayed my UNSAFE SECT? picket sign slogan during my peaceful public protest in front of the UUA's "head office" aka UUA corporate headquarters at 25 Beacon Street in Boston in May of 2000.

I for one will be describing Unitarian*Universalism as not only a sect, but indeed an "UNSAFE SECT", for as long as the quite evidently "less than safe" Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations aka UUA and the alleged Unitarian Church of Montreal continue to obstinately refuse to stand on the side of love and genuinely honor and uphold the Seven Principles and other purported ideals of U*Uism by holding Rev. Ray Drennan, Frank Greene, John Inder, and other intolerant, hostile, and abusive Atheist Supremacist and ever so "Humanist" Unitarian*Universalists fully accountable for intolerantly and abusively, falsely and maliciously, and thus considerably "less than safely", labeling Creation Day and/or my other religious activities as a cult. . . as these two corrupt religious institutions have done for 13 "less than lucky" and quite unnecessarily "less than safe" years now.
