Will Jim Key Resign As UUA Moderator Over His Participation In UUA Cover-Up And Denial Of Child Sex Abuse Committed By UUA Clergy?
Just asking. . .
In this email aka "electronic communication" I just sent to *Certified* Risk Management Consultant James C. Key aka UUA Moderator Jim "See No Evil" Key and the UUA Board of Trustees. . .
Dear UUA Moderator Jim Key,
In this email aka "electronic communication" I just sent to *Certified* Risk Management Consultant James C. Key aka UUA Moderator Jim "See No Evil" Key and the UUA Board of Trustees. . .
Dear UUA Moderator Jim Key,
Over three years ago, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, you wrote:
"Robin, in response to your email, I can only repeat what I wrote in my last email: "…you can be assured that I take very seriously the issue of clergy misconduct as well as lay leadership misconduct. It has my attention, the Board's attention, and the Administrations's attention." I am sorry that my assurance isn't sufficient for you at this time. I will continue following on this important and sensitive issue until it is resolved. Moreover, I will report progress along the way via reports that follow our board meetings."

There was more than enough information about UU clergy sexual misconduct provided to you in the emails that I sent to you in 2013, to say nothing of the hour and a half long telephone conversation that I had with you in September of 2013,
i.e. this one:

for you to be made aware that no less than 400 UUA congregations had been affected by one form of clergy sexual misconduct or another, and that "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" had actually been charged, tried, and convicted of committing what the UUA's Canadian attorney, Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe, described as "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" in the first cease and desist demand letter that he sent to me via email on Friday June 1st, 2012, and which I was only too happy to be served with by a bailiff later that month. Certainly by early December of 2013 you were in a position to know that "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" had been convicted of "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape", yet in June of 2014 you stood up in front of thousands of UU delegates attending the 2014 UUA GA and brazenly lied to them in what was ostensibly an official apology to victims and survivors of clergy sexual misconduct aka clergy sex abuse committed by "less than perfect" UUA ministers.

So please explain to me how I, or anyone else for that matter. . . "can be assured that (you) take very seriously the issue of clergy misconduct as well as lay leadership misconduct" when you brazenly lied about UU clergy sexual misconduct in general, and UU clergy sexual abuse of children in particular, in your "less than honest" "official apology"? How can I, or anyone else. . . be assured that clergy misconduct "has (your) attention, the Board's attention, and the Administrations's (sic) attention", when the most recent reports of the Board's Congregational Boundaries Committee that is chaired by UUA Vice Moderator Denise Rimes leave the distinct impression that the UUA is once again dragging its clay feet when it comes to reform of seriously flawed and inadequate policies and procedures for the handling of clergy misconduct complaints?
During the April 2010 meeting of the UUA Board of Trustees I brought it to the attention of the Gini Courter chaired UUA Board that not only were the UUMA & MFC policies and procedures for dealing with clergy misconduct seriously flawed, but that they were often disregarded when clergy misconduct complaints were filed with the UUA, and that there was no appeals process whatsoever for clergy misconduct complainants whose clergy misconduct complaints were dismissed out of hand by the UUA, or otherwise mishandled in a manner that was neither just, nor equitable, nor compassionate. Indeed I pointed out to the Board that the complete dearth of ANY appeals process whatsoever for clergy misconduct complainants was completely out of alignment with UUism's Seven Principles, most notably the second principle which clearly calls for "justice, equity, and compassion in human relations." That warning was ignored, and seven years later (almost to the day) not only is there no appeals process for clergy misconduct complainants in place, not even a temporary interim appeals process that could easily have been put in place seven years ago following my warning until an improved and permanent one was implemented, but you and Denise Rimes and the current UUA Board of Trustees are dragging your feet when it comes to creating and implementing a viable appeals process for clergy misconduct complainants whose complaints have not been responded to with genuine "justice, equity, and compassion".
Your quite evidently empty, and apparently even insincere, assurances to me in your email of December 11, 2013, to say nothing of your promises and assurances to other clergy misconduct complainants, have now been repeatedly betrayed by your very own words and actions, and indeed by your very own negligent inaction in terms of responsibly implementing a viable appeals process and other necessary reforms to the UUA's clergy misconduct, to say nothing of your past and ongoing negligent (and complicit) inaction regarding my very serious grievances arising out of the Rev. Dr. Peter Morales led UUA administration's immoral, UNethical, borderline criminal attempted misuse of Canada's blasphemy law in clergy sex abuse cover-up legal bullying that was-is quite evidently intended to conceal the readily verifiable fact that "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" most certainly committed "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape". I remind you that the Rev. Dr. Peter Morales administration's false blasphemous libel accusation against me not only violates most of UUism's Seven Principles, perhaps most notably the fourth & second principles, but also betrays the centuries old tradition of opposing blasphemy laws that Unitarians and Universalists adhered to until UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales, UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen "Kay" Montgomery and other top-level UUA leaders and UUA staff ended that tradition on Friday June 1st, of 2012.

You and the UUA Board of Trustees have not only FAILed, but have even obstinately refused, to respond in responsibility to my emails and other communications (i.e. Tweets and Facebook comments etc.) arising out of the UUA's attempted misuse of Canada's archaic blasphemy law in clergy sex abuse cover-up legal bullying that clearly sought to conceal "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" committed by "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" from the American and Canadian public. You have refused to hold Rev. Dr. Peter Morales, or any other UU minister or UUA leader implicated in this fiasco, accountable for the UUA's attempted misuse of blasphemy law in legal bullying that was-is obviously intended to hide child sex abuse committed by UUA clergy, to say nothing of UUA Religious Educators etc. This is a far worse breech of morals and ethics than the issue(s) that former UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales recently resigned over. Through your negligence and complicity, and by that I mean both you and ALL members of the UUA Board of Trustees who have been made aware of the UUA's immoral and UNethical misuse of blasphemy, you have ensured that the next President of the UUA will inherit a mess of Rev. Dr. Peter Morales making because you did absolutely nothing to clean up that mess before President Morales resigned over unrelated issues.
I thus hereby call upon you to follow the example of Rev. Dr . Peter Morales, Rev. Harlan Limpert and Rev. Scott Tayler by tendering your resignation as UUA Moderator so that a Unitarian Universalist lay leader who is not guilty of gross negligence towards, and effective if not knowing and willful complicity in, the UUA's false blasphemous libel accusation against me or brazenly lying about UU clergy sexual abuse of children may take over the helm as UUA Moderator. As far as I am concerned, and I am confident that most reasonable people will agree with me when presented with the readily verifiable facts, you are a knowing and willful participant in past and ongoing UUA cover-up and denial of "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" committed by "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" in not only doing absolutely nothing to hold anyone accountable for the Rev. Dr. Peter Morales administration's false blasphemous libel accusation against me, but also in not only minimizing UU clergy sexual misconduct in general, but brazenly lying about the sexual abuse of children, even the forcible rape of children, by child molesting UUA clergy in your utterly worthless UUA Board "apology" to victims and survivors of UU clergy sexual misconduct. As far as I am concerned you have seriously comprised your credibility and personal integrity by knowingly and willfully participating in ongoing UUA cover-up and denial of clergy sexual misconduct in general, and clergy sexual abuse of children in particular, and someone who possesses much more credibility and personal integrity than you is required to lead the UUA towards a better future, assuming the UUA even has any future worth speaking of in the wake of its past and ongoing betrayal of Unitarian Universalism's Seven Principles and other claimed ideals of Unitarian Universalism.
UUA "Marketing Materials" say: "Nurture Your Spirit. Help Heal Our World."
But you and FAR too many other outrageously hypocritical UUA leaders, to say nothing of FAR too many hypocritical UUA ministers and ordinary U*U "lay leaders", have repeatedly proven through your words and actions, or indeed through your shameful complicit silence and obstinate inaction aka gross negligence, that most U*Us are chronically unready, obstinately unwilling, and apparently even pathologically unable to do what is necessary to even begin to heal your so-called "UU World" let alone heal the much larger real world.
Sincerely,
Robin Edgar aka The Emerson Avenger
