Gaslighting Unitarian Universalist Liars aka U*U Gaslighters And The #EyesNotLies Social Media Campaign - What's The Connection?
How about this question I asked in a Religion News Service Zoom session about how much moral authority Unitarian Universalist clergy aka U*U "moral leaders", including UUA Vice President for Programs and Ministries Rev. Ashley Horan, have to be able to publicly denounce the US government's misinformation and lies about the activities of ICE and Border Patrol agents in the USA, when their own religious community i.e. Unitarian Universalism is definitely and provably guilty of spreading misinformation and lies about Unitarian Universalist clergy sexual misconduct aka U*U clergy sex abuse that includes "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" aka child sex abuse?
One of the issues related to ICE & Border Patrol activities, especially the killings, is the misinformation and lies that they & other Trump administration leaders spread about what actually happened after the fact. Religious leaders are rightly calling out the misinformation and lies in various ways, including the #EyesNotLies social media campaign. My question is - How much moral and ethical integrity, and by extension moral authority, do religious leaders have to denounce the government's misinformation and lies when their own religious communities are guilty of spreading misinformation and lies about clergy abuse that includes child sex abuse? I can't speak for other religious communities, but the Unitarian Universalist church is definitely and provably guilty of minimizing, concealing, and even knowingly and willfully lying about UU clergy sex abuse that includes egregious child sex abuse.
