Rev. Todd Eklof's 'The Gadfly Papers' And Unitarian Universalist Clergy Abuse - What's The Connection?

This morning I decided to run a Google search for:

"Robin Edgar" UNitarian clergy abuse

to see what would show up in the search results.

The upper case N in "UNitarian" was a typo, but it works. . .

I was somewhat surprised to see that a Rev. Scott Wells' blog post about the controversy arising out of Spokane Washington Unitarian Universalist minister Rev. Todd Eklof distributing his book 'The Gadfly Papers' during the 2019 UUA GA posted on June 23rd showed up on the fourth page of search results. I does so because a comment on the blog post in question posted by ChaliceChick aka Suzyn Smith Webb concludes thusly:

"I’m kinda tempted to write a post explaining all of this in nerdy detail but giving this neither heat nor light seems like ultimately the best approach, as it was with UUism’s last self-declared Gadfly from Canada."

And is responded to by one Lisa deGruyter thusly:

"I don’t see the parallel with Robin Edgar. I downloaded and read it last night, and I think explaining one’s objections in nerdy detail is exactly what needs to be done, rather than attempting to dismiss or ignore his points. That has been the essence of liberal religion – and as Karen says, a refusal to engage justifies his criticism (just as invoking white fragility to shut down discussion does.) And I think he has underestimated the impact that the last two years have had on lay people in congregations."

Apparently Suzyn Smith Webb aka ChaliceChick is blissfully unaware of just how much "heat and light" hot-headed Unitarian Universalist clergy abuse cover-up enablers have devoted to The Emerson Gadly over the last two years, to say nothing of the last two decades. . .

I am not aware of whether or not Rev. Dr. Todd Eklof addresses the issue of Unitarian Universalist clergy abuse, or the past and ongoing cover-up and denial of U*U clergy sex abuse, in 'The Gadfly Papers', but it would be interesting to read what he might have to say about *those* issues. . .
