Unitarian Universalists Have Violated Me, Oppressed Me, Excluded Me And Have Had Me Arrested On Bogus Criminal Charges Simply For Being Who I Am

In an article entitled The Stories Below The Fold A Reflection on Henry Louis Gates posted on the UUA's Standing On The Side Of Love campaign blog Rev. Meg Riley, the director of Advocacy & Witness at the Unitarian Universalist Association aka UUA, says the following -

This experience haunts me now, with Henry Louis Gates’ arrest for being in his own house on the front page. The fact that it happened is not what is surprising. The fact that it is noteworthy is. Both Gates and Shepard could pull on other privilege besides the identity that caused them to be targeted: privilege of class, of connection, of being the exemplary person.

Don’t misread me, I am delighted that the media is paying attention to both of these stories. It’s just that 99 times out of 100, the victim’s profile is more complicated and they don’t have standing to get noticed. We’re all complicated. Some voices online would try to paint even Gates as a person who deserved what he got.

The truth is that no one deserves to be violated, to be arrested, to be oppressed, to be excluded, simply for being who they are. That includes everyone I like and a heck of a lot of folks I don’t.

I don't know if Rev. Meg Riley likes me or not but here is the comment that I just submitted in response to her words. It will be interesting to see if the "moderator" aka censor of the Standing On The Side Of Love blog will stand on the side of love for that comment by releasing it from "moderation" so that people may read it. It will be similarly interesting to see if the version of that comment that I successfully submitted to the Standing On The Side Of Love campaign's Facebook site does not get "memory holed" as some of my other comments have been "disappeared" by U*U censors -

"The truth is that no one deserves to be violated, to be arrested, to be oppressed, to be excluded, simply for being who they are."

The truth is that I do not deserve to be verbally and physically violated by U*Us, to be oppressed by U*Us, to be excluded by U*Us, and even unjustly arrested on bogus criminal charges at the behest of U*Us simply for being who I am, but that is exactly what has happened. What U*Us have done to me makes the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr. for Disorderly Conduct look like a cakewalk. When do I get invited by UUA President Peter Morales to a "Beer Summit" at 25 Beacon Street to discuss the oppression and exclusion that I and to many other people who believe in God have been subjected to by intolerant and abusive "fundamentalist atheist" U*U Humanists? When will victims of clergy misconduct of all kinds finally receive the restorative justice for ALL that the UUA promised about a decade ago but has failed to deliver?

"Don’t misread me, I am delighted that the media is paying attention to both of these stories."

Glad to hear that Meg. Here's my story as published in the Montreal Mirror alternative weekly newspaper -

There's more to it than that so just Google -

Unitarians had "Robin Edgar" arrested

If you want to engage in a free and responsible search for the truth and meaning behind my being arrested on bogus criminal charges by Montreal Unitarian U*Us for daring to publicly protest against the anti-religious intolerance and bigotry that I encountered at the Unitarian Church of Montreal.

The above redundant SPAM comment was deleted as part of a failed experiment to learn how to delete and then reinstate comments on Blogger on behalf of another blogger who wanted to reinstate a deleted comment from Peacebang. I expected to be able to reinstate the SPAM comment almost immediately but it seems that Blogger does not actually allow the reinstatement of deleted comments even though its deletion function suggests that the first level of comment deletion does not result in the permanent deletion of the comment. For the record the quite redundant deleted SPAM comment said -

U R PATHETIC

just like the identical SPAM comments that were posted to about thirty different TEA blog posts earlier this month by an anonymous troll.
