The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . "Slowly, slowly the Avenger comes, but comes surely." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

In 1992 I underwent a profound revelatory experience of God which revealed that the total solar eclipse "Eye of God" is a "Sign in the Heavens" that symbolizes God's divine omniscience. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan of the Unitarian Church of Montreal contemptuously dismissed as my "psychotic experience" here: http://revelationisnotsealed.homestead.com - This revelatory religious experience inspired me to propose an inter-religious celebration of Creation that would take place whenever a total solar eclipse took place over our planet. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan and other leading members of the Unitarian Church of Montreal falsely and maliciously labeled as a "cult" here: http://creationday.homestead.com - I am now an excommunicated Unitarian whose "alternative spiritual practice" includes publicly exposing and denouncing Unitarian*Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy. The Emerson Avenger blog will serve that purpose for me and hopefully others will share their concerns here. Dee Miller's term DIM Thinking is used frequently and appropriately on this blog. You may read more about what DIM Thinking is here - http://www.takecourage.org/defining.htm

Young Adult Unitarian Universalists Can Go Fuck Themselves. . .

But don't take *my* word for it U*Us.

Take the word of a female Young Adult Unitarian Universalist U*U who apparently blogs as CandleTree in the following verbatim Tumblr post linked to below -

I went with my Youth Adult Committee co-chair to present our proposal on youth voting rights to the board of trustees at church today.

That awkward moment when you provide a compelling argument backed not only by UU principles and our own bylaws, but by Maryland state law, and yet they still refuse to support your proposed amendment. That even more awkward moment when they are unable to say why they remain unconvinced and have no ideas for what you can do to gain their support.

You know what this is? Ageism. One of the arguments used against us tonight was that they want kids to have a chance to be kids, free of responsibility that being a voting member comes with.

Were you even listening? That’s why we’re saying they have to complete Coming of Age first. It’s the UU version of a bar mitzvah or confirmation. On the day of the COA ceremony the members of the church welcome us into the congregation as adult equals, and then the next Sunday we’re back to being children in their eyes.

Our bylaws state that you cannot prevent a person from voting based on age. But apparently that only applies to the old people. Young people can go fuck themselves. (Emphasis TEA's. . .)

And then they wonder why they don’t retain any of the people who grew up in the church. Why don’t they come back after college? I don’t know, could it be because you didn’t say they could have rights until they were already gone? Just food for thought, you ignorant, oppressive hypocrites.

end quote

I dare say that The Emerson Avenger couldn't have said it better himself. :-)

The Emerson Avenger would hereby like to thank the U*U Twitterati formerly known as UU Jihad* for bringing this matter to his attention.

Here is the screenshot just in case this "less than polite" U*U Tumblr post gets "memory holed" by oppressive U*U hypocrites. . .

* UU Jihad is NOT to be confU*Used with The Emerson Avenger's U*U World famous U*U Jihad, even if UU Jihad *now* known as We Are UU occasionally slaps Big Fat U*U Hypocrites upside the head too. . .

Yes, Robin. The UUA is a man-made expression of faith, made up of smaller man-made communities, and mistakes get made at many levels every day. Since this was a UU blogging, and was pointed out for you by other UUs, it is obvious that this isn't something we're ignoring. It isn't going to get better overnight. It also isn't going to get better because of outside pressure. Keep yelling, Robin; we're sure, once in a while, someone can't help but overhear you.

Thanks for the shout-out, though. We oppose hypocrisy in all forms. Even the UUA. Even yours.

Surely you should have said even *ours* We Are U*U. . . You are by no means free of hypocrisy yourself (or indeed yourselves) and have engaged in considerable hypocrisy that clearly disregards UU principles and ideals in your human relations with me.

I hereby challenge you to clearly identify just what I am saying or doing that constitutes hypocrisy on my part. I will certainly make a point of pointing out your own hypocrisy from here on in. . .
