The Eleventh Hour And UUA Moderator Jim Key And The Brand Spanking New Post 2014 UUA GA Edition Of The UUA Board Of Trustees - What's The Connection?

How about this brand-spanking new "electronic communication" that I just sent to UUA Moderator Jim Key, the post 2014 UUA GA edition of the UUA Board Of Trustees, Rev. Gail Seavey of UU Safety Net in Nashville Tennessee, and one other member of UU Safety Net minutes ago just after 11am aka The Eleventh Hour* , this morning?

How I Celebrate Canada Day Tomorrow. . .

Depends VERY much on what you U*U "Brave Souls" actually DO to genuinely "walk towards trouble" today during your post-GA Board meeting.

DO or DO NOT, there is NO trial for my alleged blasphemous libel against Unitarian Universalism on the horizon. . .

SO I politely suggest that you DO try to make Canada Day 2014 a happy one for me and numerous other victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct, and indeed the numerous victims of UU clergy sexual misconduct who have yet to receive anything resembling the "restorative justice for ALL" that was promised to them over 14 years ago during the 2000 UUA GA in Nashville.

Just saying, as they say.

Unitarian Universalist Clergy Image And Famous Unitarian Ralph Waldo Emerson - What's The Connection?

How about the Big Fat U*U Results of the following Google Images search that *someone* in San Jose, California, USA aka The Land Of The Free Willie, freely and responsibly engaged in late last night?

robin edgar emerson

It would appear from the U*Ultimate result of that particular Google Images search being that the Californian person of inherent worth and dignity in question clicked through to my blog post titled -

The Collective Authorship Of The Robin Edgar Sucks Blog Ever So Collectively Kick Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang And Her Negligent and complicit UUA & MFC Enablers in their Big Fat U*U Balls. . .

Here - http://emersonavenger.blogspot.ca/2011/11/collective-authorship-of-robin-edgar.html

That they must have clicked on *this* Big Fat U*U Meme of a Unitarian*Universalist AssHat aka a Crazy U*U AssHat, to only slightly modify the insulting and derogatory, but never-the-less remarkably U*Useful. . . "term of endearment" that I had never even previously heard of before until Rev. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang aka Vicki The Impaler introduced me to it in her "less than polite" blog post which included her Big Fat U*U Sodomy Fantasy that obscenely, and just a tad Sadistically. . . imagined "South Dakota state senator Bill Napoli anally impaled on the Statue of Liberty's torch".

No doubt, besides engaging in a free and responsible Google Images search for the Truth and meaning of the interconnection between Yours Truly and my evil twin brother Robin Edgar, they were "walking towards trouble", to borrow a turn of a phrase from 2014 UUAGA Wade Lecture speaker Sister Simone Campbell.

Who knows?

Maybe it was Sister Simone Campbell herself. . .

In any case, I quite enjoyed watching and listening to Sister Simone deliver the 2014 Wade Lecture from the safety and security of my secret bunker up here in Soviet Canuckistan.

ALL things considered however, I am thinking that I probably *should* have tried just a little bit harder to "walk towards trouble" by taking a bus or a train, or even quite literally walking. . . down to Rhode Island to attend the 2014 UUA GA in Providence by engaging in more "walking towards trouble" in my "alternative spiritual practice" aka "prophetic work" of peaceful public protest, with picket signs that expose and denounce Unitarian Universalist clergy abuse and UUA perversion of justice that includes, but is by no means limited to. . . the Peter Morales administration's incompetent, immoral, unethical, borderline criminal, and yes. . . BAT SHIT CRAZY UUA clergy abuse cover-up and denial legal bullying that includes, but is NOT limited to. . . the utterly shameful attempted misuse and abuse of Canada's archaic blasphemy law in an attempt to conceal and deny what the UUA's Canadian attorney Maitre Marc-André Coulombe quite justifiably described as "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" by falsely accusing Yours Truly of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel. . .

And so it goes U*Us. . .

Will UUA Moderator Jim Key Respond In Responsibility To The Spirit That Bloweth Where It Listeth By Apologizing For The Peter Morales UUA Administration's Misuse Of Blasphemy Law During The 2014 UUA GA?

Just asking. . .

On Saturday, June 28, 2014 3:09:44 PM, Robin Edgar wrote:

Dear Jim,

I would like to congratulate you for delivering the UUA's second apology to victims of UUA clergy sexual misconduct yesterday, but it is almost impossible for me to do so at this time since so little information is available about what exactly was said in that apology, who it was said to or in front of, and how it was received etc. Until I know more about the UUA's 2nd apology to victims of clergy sexual misconduct I cannot say much about it, one way or the other.

As you well know, I asked you in mid-December of 2013 to deliver the UUA's overdue apology for its legal bullying of June 2012 that, amongst other dubious accusations against me, falsely accuses me of the crime of blasphemous libel for blogging about Unitarian Universalists who are guilty of engaging in some of the worst kinds of clergy sexual misconduct. The fact that one of those UUs was not even a UU minister to the best of my knowledge is somewhat besides the point. You never delivered that UUA apology which would have helped to get the New Year of 2014 off to a much better footing than it got off to.

A few days ago I forwarded to you an email that I had sent to UUA President Rev. Peter Morales on Groundhog Day February 2nd, 2010 in which I reached out in love and politely requested that he deliver an apology to UU clergy misconduct victims during Standing On The Side Of Love Day 2010 i.e. February 14th, 2010. Rev. Morales never even acknowledged receipt of that email, and he subsequently brushed off my reasonable request for him to ensure that the UUA reopened and re-examined my clergy misconduct complaints against Rev. Ray Drennan and Rev. Victoria Weistein by tersely and rather callously saying,

"We're not reopening something that's years and years and years old."

Just over two years later in June of 2012, to my complete surprise, the Rev. Peter Morales administration not only reopened Rev. Victoria Weinstein's case in a manner that was completely antithetical to what I had requested from him during the April 2010 UUA Board of Trustees meeting, but also reopened egregious UUA clergy sexual misconduct that was a couple of decades old by falsely accusing me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel in misguided legal bullying that was intended to ensure that my The Emerson Avneger blog posts about Rev. Victoria Weinstein's "sodomy fantasy" etc., and Rev.Mack Mitchell's rape of vulnerable teenage Tibetan refugees, disappeared into thin cyberspace.

You have known for at least nine months now that I expect the UUA to formally withdraw any and ALL false allegations that it brought against me in the two cease and desist demand letters that Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe had me served with in June of 2012, and to publicly apologize to not only to me personally but to the Unitarian Universalist religious community whose principles, and ideals, and proud liberal religious heritage of opposing blasphemy laws, the Peter Morales administration's false blasphemous libel accusation against me makes a complete and utter mockery of. You declined to apologize when I asked you to do so in December and you have made no effort to do so since then. And so here we are in late June of 2014, not one single step closer to genuine justice, equity and compassion, to say nothing of peace in the UU World, than we were when I first spoke with you on the telephone in early September of 2013.

So I am hereby giving you another opportunity to live up to your own personal religious rhetoric, to say nothing of what other Unitarian Universalist clergy and lay leaders have said in the last several days during the 2014 UUA GA about being "brave souls" and "reaching out in love" etc. etc., and to do the long overdue "Right Thing", or what you call the "Holy Work", of standing in front of a few thousand Unitarian Universalists in Providence Rhode Island later today, or more realistically tomorrow, and personally delivering the UUA's official apology for falsely accusing me of the archaic criminal act of blasphemous libel for telling the well-documented Truth about Unitarian Universalists who not only engaged in "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape", but were charged, tried, found guilty, sentenced to jail terms, and incarcerated for some years for committing such "despicable crimes".

If you decide to be (a) brave soul and reach out in love, to say nothing of justice, equity and compassion in human relations by doing what should have been done months ago, I will graciously accept your official apology as long as it meets my reasonable expectations. You can run your apology by me, before actually publicly delivering it in front of plenary, to ensure that it will in fact be accepted rather than being rejected as inadequate in one way or another. Needless to say, if you do deliver this overdue UUA apology, one that I believe your fellow Unitarian Universalists deserve almost as much as I do, you will not only be genuinely honouring and upholding most if not all of Unitarian Universalism's Seven Principles, but helping to restore Unitarianism's centuries old religious heritage of being strongly opposed to blasphemy laws that the Rev. Peter Morales UUA administration has so shamefully betrayed and tarnished. Equally needless to say, if you once again decline to deliver this much needed apology, the war of words that we are engaged in will be prolonged and almost certainly escalate.

I stand ready to move towards the deescalation of this long drawn out war of words whenever the UUA and individual Unitarian Universalist clergy, lay leaders, and congregants are ready to actually practice what UUism preaches in their human relations with me and other victims of UU clergy abuse, and I hope that you will finally see the wisdom of taking the UUA's first significant step towards restorative justice for not only me personally, but for ALL victims of all forms of UU clergy abuse and UUA complicity therein.

Sincerely,

Robin Edgar

Unitarian Universalist Brave Souls Rapelling Down Walls In Providence And Abusive Unitarian Universalist Clergy And Their Negligent And Complicit UUA Enablers - What's The Connection?

How about the following comments that I have been submitting to this Providence Journal web page about UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales and various other repelling U*U, oops! I meant to say rapelling Brave U*U Souls, taking an ever so "heroic" and "courageous" U*U "leap of faith" by rapelling down the wall of the Rhode Island Convention Center to raise money for the Unitarian Universlist Association of Congregations That Not Only Repel Many If Not Most Visitors But Repel Tens Of Thousands Of Unitarian Universalists Through Their Negligent And Complicit Responses To UU Clergy Misconduct?

Just for starters. . .
  • Robin Edgar · Concordia University
"Unitarians believe we can lead heroic lives creating a world worth loving. It takes brave souls to go to the edge and over."

Which explains why Brave U*U Souls like UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales, UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen 'Kay Montgomery, other UUA staff and some UU clergy, ever so heroically hired Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe to have me served with an arrogant and aggressive, to say nothing of immoral and unethical... cease and desist demand letter which, amongst other highly questionable allegations and accusations, falsely accused me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel, in utterly shameful legal bullying that seeks to cover-up and deny Unitarian Universalist clergy abuse, including what Maitre Coulombe described as "such despicable crimes as pedophlia and rape."

As if this was not bad enough, the Brave U*U Souls who made up the Gini Couter led UUA Board of Trustees ever so heroically did nothing to ensure that the Peter Morales administration formally withdrew its highly misleading and even outright false accusations, and publicly apologize for having the audacity and hubris to bring them against me.

Anyone desiring more information about this need only Google "Blasphemous Libel" + Unitarian

Did I forget to mention that most of the Brave U*U Souls misusing Canada's blasphemy law in inept legal bullying that seeks to conceal and deny "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" (amongst other UU clergy misconduct) are Atheists?

It lends a whole new meaning to the term "Unitarian Joke".

Feel free to Google that too. . .

Let them sue you if they want. Dont give into their demands. If they sue you, you can now countersue them for damages....we have an excellent antislap law in our province.

    • Robin Edgar · Concordia University
André Bérubé Thanks for you helpful advice André, but I doubt they will attempt to sue me now. In any case, blasphemous libel is a criminal act in the Canadian Criminal Code subject to a two year prison term if an alleged blasphemer is found guilty and convicted. It is not a matter for civil law, although some of the other accusations might be. I blew the UUA's Canadian attorneys out of the water with my first few email responses to their ludicrous accusations. I demanded that they identify the blog posts that they alleged to contain "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the (Unitarian Universalist) Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape." The lawyer arrogantly refused to do so, ditto for UUA leaders like UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales and now "retired" UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen 'Kay Montgomery who refused to provide the slightest scrap of evidence supporting their accusations against me when I challenged them to do so.

Many of my emails to Stikeman Elliott attorney Maitre Marc-André Coulombe, President Morales, and 'Kay Montgomery are posted to The Emerson Avenger blog. You might find them to be both educational and quite entertaining. :-)

I'm sorry I wasn't able to come visit your awesome city for this year's Assembly, I would have loved exploring Providence and watching these brave souls rappel. It is great to be an off-site delegate, though, and I'm moved by how mindfully our Association is working to fully include those of us who can't attend in body.

    • Robin Edgar · Concordia University
"I'm moved by how mindfully our Association is working to fully include those of us who can't attend in body."

I regret to have to say so, but the Unitarian Universalist Association is NOT working very mindfully in its rather inhuman "human relations" with me and other numerous people who have been victimized by abusive UUA clergy and the "less than welcoming" UU congregations that choose the fate of supporting their abusive ministers, rather than holding them accountable for their misconduct and abuse. In fact, as recently as the spring of 2012, the Rev. Peter Morales administration was working rather mindlessly to cover-up and hide UU clergy misconduct that ranged from fairly low level verbal attacks, through deeply insulting and outright defamatory verbal abuse courtesy of one Rev. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang, right up to "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" with immoral, unethical, and borderline criminal legal bullying that sought to intimidate me into deleting aka "memory holing" The Emerson Avenger blog posts about the aforementioned Unitarian Universalist clergy misconduct which included the worst forms of clergy sexual misconduct. In fact, the UUA attempted to misuse Canada's vague blasphemy law by pretending that my allegedly "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" were SO defamatory that they constituted the archaic crime of blasphemous libel.

Those brave U*U souls from UUA HQ in Boston who are "courageous" and "heroic" enough to rappel down the side of building in a fundraising publicity stunt also *repel* me and numerous other people with their immoral and unethical FAILure and even obstinate refusal to live up the letter and the spirit of not only UU principles and ideals, but their own personal religious rhetoric. I have successfully challenged the various false accusations that the UUA brought against me in June of 2012 and have demanded that the Peter Morales administration must formally withdraw any and ALL of the false allegations that it made about me and publicly apologize for bringing them against me, but to date that "brave soul" known as UUA President Peter Morales has refused to accept responsibility for his administration's shameful clergy abuse cover-up legal bullying, and both the Gini Courter led UUA Board and Jim Key led Board have FAILed to do their job and take steps to ensure that President Morales and the other UUA leaders who are responsible for planning and executing this immoral, inept, and quite obviously *ineffective* legal bullying are held accountable for doing so.

  • Barry Sanders · Taunton, Massachusetts
I could not be happier to be a part of this gathering of such loving spiritual people. The world is at such a critical place in history with anger and fear dividing and diminishing people. This community of love has shown the ability to bring people together by bringing real joy and salvation.

    • Robin Edgar · Concordia University
Barry, as you may see from my comments here, anger and fear on the part of abusive UU clergy and their UUA enablers are dividing and diminishing *your* "community of love" which has not only NOT shown the ability to bring people together by bringing real joy and salvation in this and other matters, but has done the exact opposite. I will say however that it actually IS a "real joy" to find myself falsely accused of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel by immoral, unethical, incredibly foolish Atheist Unitarian UUA leaders like UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter Morales and former UUA Executive *Vice* President Kathleen 'Kay Montgomery to name but two.

That being said, as much as I am more than happy to be basking in the untold glory of being accused of blasphemy by Atheist U*Us, I require the further "real joy" of seeing and hearing UUA President Peter Morales and-or UUA Moderator Jim Key publicly apologize not only to me personally, but to the Unitarian Universalist community as a whole, for engaging in this shameful attempt to cover-up and deny UU clergy abuse which ranges from verbal and psychological abuse right up to "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape." Until I experience this real joy their will be NO salvation for anyone involved in this UUA fiasco.

So I will politely ask you and other Unitarian Universalists to take steps to ensure that the public apology that I have been demanding since June of 2012 is finally delivered in front of a few thousand UU delegates during the 2014 UUA GA in Providence.

      Thank you,

Robin Edgar aka The Emerson Avenger

    • Robin Edgar · Concordia University
      Shawna,

You know as well as I do that you are only telling one side of the story, and you DO know what they say about half-truths don't you?

In case you have forgotten, I will kindly remind you -

      A half-Truth is a whole Lie.

You are quite right, your Unitarian Universalist faith has helped many people, from the single mom to the GBLT+ kid to the immigrant needing shelter - all through recognizing the divinity of each person. But the flip side of *that* coin is that your Unitarian Universalist religious community has also harmed SO many people, literally thousands of UU clergy sexual misconduct, to say nothing of the non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct that additionally harm other people. Then there are the numerous other ways in which Unitarian Universalists harm people on a daily basis, and sometimes, as in my case, and in the case of numerous victims of UU clergy misconduct victims and whistleblowers who have been ignored, shunned, ostracized, and even intimidated and bullied by UUs in the wake of being brave souls enough to dare to complain about the misconduct and abuse that they have been subjected to by "less than perfect" UU preachers.

What a great shame of *your* faith that abusive UU clergy, their negligent and complicit UUA enablers, and literally tens of thousands of uncaring Unitarian Universalist church goers obstinately refuse to recognize the inherent worth and dignity of victims of ALL forms of UU clergy abuse, let alone their "divinity".

How about if you and other UUs try a bit harder to actually practice what UU clergy and UUA leaders so insincerely and hypocritically preach. You and other UUs can start by demanding an explanation of the UUA legal bullying I have brought your attention to here, and when it becomes clear that there is no satisfactory explanation forthcoming from President Morales or Jim Key, demanding that one or both of them must formally withdraw the UUA's false accusations against me and publicly apologize not only to me, but to you and a few hundred thousand Unitarian Universalist for totally betraying UUism's religious heritage by attempting to misuse Canadian blasphemy law to cover-up and-or outright deny the fact that *certain* Unitarian Universalist ministers are in fact guilty of engaging in "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape".

      Sincerely,

Emma's Revolution 'Love Reaches Out' Song And Such Despicable Crimes As Pedophilia And Rape - What's The Connection?

How about this comment that I just posted in response to the YouTube video of Emma's Revolution performing a song entitled 'Love Reaches Out' that was apparently commissioned for the UUA's WaterFire Providence Full Lighting public witness event during which Emma's Revolution will perform 'Love Reaches Out' just for starters?
"With a mind that holds a plan... love reaches out."

Right...

Like the "less than loving" minds of certain UU clergy, and top level UUA leaders like UUA President Rev. Peter Morales & "retired" UUA Executive Vice President Kathleen Kay Montgomery, to name but two, that are still firmly holding on to their immoral, unethical, and borderline criminal plan to misuse Canada's blasphemy law in arrogant and aggressive and utterly shameful legal bullying that seeks to cover-up and deny UUA clergy abuse, including egregious clergy sexual misconduct that the UUA Canadian attorney, Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe, describes as "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape".

The hypocrisy.

The hypocrisy. . .

WaterFire Providence Full Lighting Under UUA President Rev. Peter Morales' Outrageously Hypocritical U*U Ass

The comment below was just submitted to this WaterFire Providence web page announcing the June 28th, 2014 Full Lighting sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association aka The U*U Movement aka THE Tiny Declining Fringe Religion

The hypocrisy of the Unitarian Universalist Association and its remarkably two-faced President Peter Morales knows no bounds.

Indeed it is literally Beyond Belief. . .

Everything said about Unitarian Universalists living out their moral responsibility as believers in what is good, what is right, and what is just is betrayed on a daily basis by President Morales, many if not most UUA ministers, and thousands of ordinary Unitarian Universalists. Amongst other outrageously hypocritical behaviors, the Peter Morales led UUA administration, with the full knowledge and consent of the Jim Key led UUA Board of Trustees, is obstinately refusing to formally withdraw its false blasphemous libel accusation that it brought against me just over two years ago in utterly shameful legal bullying that was clearly intended to cover-up and deny UUA clergy abuse including, but by no means limited to, what the UUA's Canadian attorney Maitre Marc-André Coulombe describes as "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape."

UUA Moderator Jim Key And UUA Board Trustees Get An "Electronic Communication" Regarding UUA President Rev. Peter Morales' FAILure To Reach Out In Love To ALL UU Clergy Misconduct Victims

Fw: Peter Morales letter

Me
To jkey@uua.org board@uua.org pmorales@uua.org and 4 More...

Dear UUA Moderator Jim Key and ALL UUA Trustees,

The email that I am forwarding to you was sent to UU clergy misconduct expert Rev. Deborah Pope-Lance regarding an email that had I sent to UUA President Rev. Peter Morales a week earlier on Tuesday February 2nd, 2010. I am forwarding both of these emails to you because the "new and improved" Yahoo! email service doesn't allow me to forward only the email that was sent to President Peter Morales. That four year old email communicates my past, present, and indeed future position regarding UUA apologies to UU clergy misconduct victims, UU clergy misconduct whistleblowers, and UU clergy misconduct critics.

Sadly, UUA President Rev. Peter Morales not only FAILed to reach out in love in response to my reasonable request that he "stand on the side of love" for ALL UU clergy misconduct victims during the observance of
“National Standing on the Side of Love Day" on Sunday, February 14th, 2010, but he has since authorized the UUA's Canadian attorneys to falsely accuse me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel in immoral and unethical legal bullying that is quite evidently intended to intimidate me into "memory holing" The Emerson Avenger blog posts about Unitarian Universalists who committed various forms of clergy misconduct, some of whom have even been charged, tried and convicted of committing what the UUA's Canadian attorney describes as "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape."

Imagine where we might be today of President Morales had actually practiced "reaching out in love" when I sent him this email over four years ago, instead of not only totally ignoring it, but just over 2 years later over-reaching out (dare I say striking out?) in arrogant and aggressive legal bullying that was and still IS completely antithetical to not only what I requested of him in this email, but is all but completely antithetical to pretty much every principle and ideal that the Unitarian Universalist religious community pretends to stand for.

As much as I am gratified to learn that the Jim Key led UUA Board of Trustees has voted to deliver a long overdue second UUA apology to victims of UU clergy sexual misconduct during the upcoming UUA GA in Providence Rhode Island, I am none-the-less quite disappointed that the UUA Board chose to exclude victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct from this second UUA apology. I am also concerned that the sincerity, integrity and credibility of this second UUA apology to clergy sexual misconduct victims will inevitably be compromised by the fact that the Rev. Peter Morales UUA administration, with the full knowledge and consent of both the Gini Courter led UUA Board and now the Jim Key led UUA Board, is still obstinately refusing to formally withdraw and publicly apologize for its immoral, unethical, and borderline criminal attempted misuse of Canadian blasphemy law to conceal online evidence of some of the worst forms of Unitarian Universalist clergy sexual misconduct, specifically "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape."

I thus reach out in love for ALL victims of ALL forms of UUA clergy abuse, including indirect victims such as not only the victims' own families and their respective UU congregations, but also clergy abuse whistleblowers and critics who are all too often ignored, ostracized, and even bullied and  intimidated in various ways, by reminding to you that it would be advisable for you to vote to censure the Rev. Peter Morales administration for the inept legal bullying that the UUA engaged in just over two years ago in June of 2012, formally withdraw any and ALL outright false or highly misleading accusations that were brought against me in the two arrogant and aggressive cease and desist demand letters that Stikeman Elliot Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe sent to me, and *publicly* apologize to me for engaging in said legal bullying, as I have been quite reasonably demanding for two years now.

The Emerson Avenger blog post linked to below reproduces the email that I sent to the Gini Courter led UUA Board of Trustees well over a year ago now, demanding that the UUA Board must censure the Peter Morales UUA administration for this immoral and unethical legal bullying -

http://emersonavenger.blogspot.ca/2013/01/uua-board-of-trustees-censure-peter.html

I am giving some consideration to giving Rev. Peter Morales himself a final opportunity to personally and publicly apologize for his role in this shameful UUA legal bullying that quite obviously seeks to conceal both sexual and non-sexual clergy misconduct in front of UUA delegates during the 2014 UUA GA, but I have not yet made up my mind about whether or not to reach out in love to President Morales when he has not only obstinately refused to reach out in love to me and other victims of UU clergy abuse after repeated requests that he do so, but has actively lashed out at me with arrogant and aggressive legal bullying that most people of conscience will readily agree is a shameful misuse and abuse of his power and authority as President of the UUA.

One thing is certain, if the 2014 UUA GA in Providence Rhode Island concludes with the Jim Key led UUA Board of Trustees still refusing to hold the President Morales UUA administration properly and fully accountable for this attempted institutional cover-up and denial of UUA clergy abuse which includes "such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape", the sincerity, integrity, and credibility of the UUA's second apology to clergy sexual misconduct victims will be compromised and called into question, as will the integrity and credibility of the Jim Key led UUA Board of Trustees itself.

DO GOVERN YOURSELVES ACCORDINGLY

Hi Deborah,

I would be interested in your thoughts on it as well as your personal assessment of what, if anything, UUA President Peter Morales has done to responsibly address the issue of clergy misconduct in the first seven months of his presidency.
Are you aware of any new developments?

Dear President Morales,
I would like to invite you to publicly stand on the side of love for all victims of clergy misconduct committed by Unitarian Universalist ministers on “National Standing on the Side of Love Day" Sunday, February 14th, 2010. Almost a decade ago, at the 2000 UUA GA in Nashville, Tennessee, the UUA officially apologized to victims of clergy sexual misconduct committed by UU ministers. I am not however aware of any official UUA apology ever being delivered to victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct committed by UU ministers. I believe that the UUA owes a long overdue official apology to all victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct, and that the UUA should also deliver individualized personal apologies to each and every victim of any form of clergy misconduct perpetrated by UU ministers, especially those people whose clergy misconduct complaints were negligently and irresponsibly dismissed, or otherwise handled in an unjust, inequitable, and "less than compassionate" manner, by the UUA and MFC over the last few decades.

You are on record as saying that you are "absolutely committed to doing the right thing" when it comes to taking action on clergy sexual misconduct, and that taking action is a "moral imperative." I put it to you that taking responsible action on non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct is equally a moral imperative or moral obligation, and I call upon you to fully commit yourself to doing the right thing in response to all forms of clergy misconduct committed by UU ministers. The fact of the matter is that some of the more serious cases of non-sexual clergy misconduct can be every bit as harmful and damaging to victims and implicated UU congregations as some cases of clergy sexual misconduct.
The tacit or explicit attitude towards non-sexual clergy misconduct that I have seen displayed by too many UUA administrators, and UU clergy more generally, is that if the clergy misconduct complained about is not sexual misconduct it is not worth worrying about, let alone doing anything to responsibly address it in a manner that genuinely honors and upholds the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism, or indeed the letter and the spirit of the UUMA Guidelines and Code of Professional Practice. This attitude is not acceptable to me nor do I believe that it should be acceptable to any Unitarian Universalist who genuinely cares about UU principles and ideals.
I will not go into the details of my own complaints about non-sexual clergy misconduct that involve being deeply insulted and defamed, and unjustly demonized and marginalized, by verbally and psychologically abusive UU ministers in this letter, but I feel that it is necessary to point out that it is a regrettable fact of life that victims of any form of clergy misconduct often find themselves ostracized, and even additionally demonized and marginalized, by their fellow congregants and coreligionsists after they have dared to openly complain about clergy misconduct, regardless of what form of clergy misconduct they complain about. This unacceptable treatment of clergy misconduct "whistleblowers" needs to be responsibly acknowledged and addressed by the UUA in any new official apology that it delivers to victims of clergy misconduct.
I also believe that the UUA needs to responsibly acknowledge at the 2010 UUA GA that it has failed to honor its year 2000 "pledge" to "bend towards justice" and remedy its past failures to respond to clergy misconduct in a manner that lives up to UU principles and ideals, to say nothing of clearly stated UUA bylaws and policies. I dare say that the UUA and MFC seem to be more inclined towards bending justice than bending towards justice. This is certainly true of my own case which involves non-sexual forns of clergy misconduct, but I expect that it is true of other cases of clergy misconduct of all kinds which have occurred since that official UUA apology was delivered at Nashville by UUA Executive Vice President Kay Montgomery.
I and other victims of UU clergy misconduct are still being "left lonely, confused, afraid, angry and betrayed" and definitely capital 'U' Un-ministered to by the UUA, its Ministerial Fellowship Committee, and implicated UU congregations, in the aftermath of that apology. This status quo is not acceptable and must be acknowledged and responsibly remedied by the UUA. It is high time that the UUA finally got around to providing some genuine and tangible restorative justice for ALL victims of UU clergy misconduct, both victims of clergy sexual misconduct and victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct.
After publicly "Standing On The Side of Love" for ALL victims of UU clergy misconduct on “National Standing on the Side of Love Day" this February 14th, I would ask that you to then take steps to ensure that providing genuine restorative justice for ALL victims of UU clergy misconduct is on the agenda of the Ministerial Fellowship Committee meeting in mid-March 2010 and that this MFC meeting leads towards the goal of a new official UUA apology to be delivered to victims of non-sexual forms of clergy misconduct, or indeed all forms of clergy misconduct, at the 2010 UUA GA in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Sincerely,

Robin Edgar
P.S. I will be asking you to initiate a complete review of my own clergy misconbduct complaints in a follow-up email.

Do Unitarian Universalists And UUA Leaders aka Brave U*U Souls Dare To Compare Their *Real* 2014 UUA Membership Statistics With Other Liberal Denominations?

In a recent 'Growing Unitarian Universalism' blog post dated June 10, 2014, and entitled 'How Do We Compare' the UUA's growth strategist Tandi Rogers, and the UUA's director of growth strategies Rev. Stefan Jonasson, come to the Big Fat U*U CONCLUSION that -

"Unitarian Universalism is growing in comparison to Liberal and Mainline Protestant traditions"

They come to this rather questionable CONCLUSION as a result of comparing the publicly available membership statistics of certain Liberal and Mainline Protestant traditions such as the United Church of Christ, the Episcopal Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the United Methodist Church, and the Presbyterian Church USA. The chart that they produced is reproduced below. I expect that it will be used during the 2014 UUA GA in Providence Rhode Island to try to bambU*Uzle dim-witted U*U GA delegates into believing that Unitarian Universalism is somehow growing when it is doing no such thing.

What this carefully contrived chart of membership statistics *really* shows is that Unitarian Universalism is not declining quite as rapidly as some of the other "more liberal" denominations in America, and even that conclusion may well be belied by the most recent UUA membership statistics that have yet to be made public by the UUA. This contrived chart and its CONCLUSION in NO way means that Unitarian Universalism is actually experiencing any real and tangible growth as these two self-interested UUA bureaucrats, whose Office of Growth Strategies is supposed to ensure the "strategic mobilization of resources, purpose, and partnerships to grow current and future Unitarian Universalist congregations and beyond", would like to have U*Us believe.

There are several highly questionable aspects of the claims being made by UUA growth strategist Tandi Rogers, and the UUA's director of growth strategies Rev. Stefan Jonasson in this blog post. For example the chart claims to be presenting "reliable statistics" that "go from 1996-2012, a 16 year span" yet the chart only displays statistics up to 2009. If we use "reliable statistics" that actually do go to 2012, the picture is somewhat different, even if the misleading CONCLUSION remains the same.

But why does this official UUA chart only provide "reliable statistics" that "go from 1996-2012" when the UUA, and its "less than honest" Office of Growth Strategies, have "reliable statistics" that are as up-to-date as the first quarter or even second quarter of 2014 at their disposal?

Reliable statistics like the most recent Data Services data about Non-Certified Congregations by Region / District which shows that no less than 52 UUA congregations have NOT recertified their membership in the UUA.

Reliable statistics like the most recent Data Services List of Congregations That Submitted Membership Numbers which shows that only 991 UUA congregations have actually recertified their membership in the UUA.

Even if we deem that the 52 UUA congregations who have not yet re-certified their membership in the UUA, more than 4 months after the deadline to do so expired, are none-the-less still member congregations of the UUA, as the UUA apparently does, we are left with a UUA that currently has only 1043 congregations. This number is still higher than than the 2009 figures provided, but the question remains, does the UUA actually have more than the 991 UUA congregations that re-certified their membership this year, or is it possible, even probable, that many if not most of the 52 congregations that did not re-certify will not do so for one reason or another?

What are the current UUA adult membership numbers for 2014 for the 991 certified congregations and the 52 NOT-certified congregations?

A recent UU World report says -

"The UUA's latest membership figures count 154,707 members in 1,024 congregations in the United States, a decline of 1.2 percent from last year. Another 3,479 members belong to 23 congregations in other countries, for a total of 158,186 members in 1,047 congregations worldwide. Children's religious education enrollment dropped 4.6 percent last year in the U.S., to 49,191."

but even these figures seem to be last year's membership figures, rather than this year's membership figures, in that at the time the report was published in the UU World, the UUA would have had 1043 congregations at best. . .

Why is the UUA's office of Growth Strategies presenting a chart that shows UUA membership statistics that are no more recent than 2009, when it has "reliable statistics" for UUA membership that are half a decade more up-to-date at its disposal?

Here is the comment that I posted in response to this highly misleading Growing Unitarian Universalism blog post of the UUA's Office of Growth Strategies. No doubt it will be "memory holed" as soon as a blog administrator sees it -

Those UUA membership figures are now about half a decade out of date. The Spring 2014 issue of UU World magazine reported that -

"The UUA's latest membership figures count 154,707 members in 1,024 congregations in the United States..."

and there is some evidence which suggests that those UUA adult membership figures may well be somewhat inflated. No less than 51 UUA congregations have yet to re-certify their membership in the UUA more than four months after the February 2014 deadline for re-certification. Even if these adult membership figures are taken taken at face value, it would appear that the UUA suffered a net loss of almost 10,000 adult members within the last five years.

The net loss of RE enrollments is even more dramatic.

In spite of all the talk about growth Unitarian Universalism is clearly in decline in North America. If I remember correctly UUA President Peter Morales ran on a platform of promising to transform UUism from what he termed "a tiny, declining, fringe religion" into "THE religion for our time." I think we can safely say that 6 years into his de facto 8 year term as UUA President Peter Morales has FAILed miserably to deliver on that now quite evidently empty promise.

Update - Sunday June 22, 2014:

Somewhat surprisingly the above comment has yet to be "memory holed" by the administrators of the UUA Office of Growth Strategies' 'Growing Unitarian Universalism' blog. It will be interesting to see if my comment survives into the beginning of next week, but I expect that it will be deleted by Monday if not earlier.
