Well It's About Time. . . Or is it?
U*U blogger Jamie Goodwin seems to be a U*U Man On A Mission these days. Jamie's Cryin' about the interim minister of the Unitarian*Universalist Church of Akron, Ohio, Rev. Mary Moore on his 'Trivium' blog in an amusing Van Halen analogy.
"Worship is really important to me, and our new minister is really not that good at presenting worship or public speaking, at least not to my sensibilities. I am going to illustrate my point with this Van Halen front-man metaphor.
I grew up with David Lee Roth – amazing, flashy, engaging speakers who made you want to demand to be a part of the action.
I found Unitarian Universalism with Sammy Hagar – the minister there was a little older, definantly more skilled than what I had known, but less passionate, still pretty good, better than I expected, and every once a while a real zinger that got you just like the old days.
Now that my church is in transition we got Gary Cherone - I mean it’s still professional, it still offers some good grooves and you want to dig it, but it’s just not the same. There is not the passion of Roth, nor the skill of Hagar, and you hate to say it but you just can’t stand the new CD."
Clearly Jamie Goodwin is not so Hot For Teacher and he quite obviously does not believe that Rev. Mary Moore is Good Enough when it comes to leading worship services at Unitarian*Universalist Church of Akron, Ohio. You would swear from all of his bitchin' and complaining over the last several months that the Unitarian*Universalist Church of Akron is more of a House Of Pain than a House Of Worship. It is abundantly evident that Christian U*U Jamie Goodwin is anything but on Top Of The World these days. In fact he even seems to be just a tad Strung Out. Will he suffer from a Loss Of Control?
What will Akron Unitarian*Universalist U*Us do to put out this embarrassing Fire In The Hole?
Does Jamie Goodwin have One Foot Out The Door of the Unitarian*Universalist Church of Akron? Will he Jump his U*U Ship Of Fools and end up Crossing Over to another Ohio U*U "church", or a more genuinely Christian denomination than the uncommonly anti-Christian denomination known as U*Uism? Or will he just end up spending Sunday Afternoon In The Park? Indeed, considering just how Christophobic some anti-Christian Unitarian*Universalist U*Us can be one can't help but wonder if such U*Us are Runnin' With The Devil. . . ;-)
Surely by now Jamie Goodwin has learned that when Push Comes To Shove his fellow Unitarian*Universalists are just Humans Being U*Us.
I can't help but wonder how U*U interim minister Rev. Mary Moore feels about being so publicly Spanked by Jamie Goodwin? Surely she can't be terribly happy about Jamie Goodwin so publicly saying You're No Good. Jamie sure Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love in any case. No doubt we'll all Hear About It Later. . .
Is it possible that Jamie Goodwin is just a U*U Sucker In A 3 Piece?
If so, hopefully he Won't Get Fooled Again.
