The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . "Slowly, slowly the Avenger comes, but comes surely." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

In 1992 I underwent a profound revelatory experience of God which revealed that the total solar eclipse "Eye of God" is a "Sign in the Heavens" that symbolizes God's divine omniscience. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan of the Unitarian Church of Montreal contemptuously dismissed as my "psychotic experience" here: http://revelationisnotsealed.homestead.com - This revelatory religious experience inspired me to propose an inter-religious celebration of Creation that would take place whenever a total solar eclipse took place over our planet. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan and other leading members of the Unitarian Church of Montreal falsely and maliciously labeled as a "cult" here: http://creationday.homestead.com - I am now an excommunicated Unitarian whose "alternative spiritual practice" includes publicly exposing and denouncing Unitarian*Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy. The Emerson Avenger blog will serve that purpose for me and hopefully others will share their concerns here. Dee Miller's term DIM Thinking is used frequently and appropriately on this blog. Will Dan Furmansky The New Standing On The Side Of Love Campaign Manager Turn A Blind Eye To The Intolerance And Bigotry Of U*U Ministers?

Just asking as they say. . .

Quite regrettably the UUA's Standing On The Side Of Love Campaign has already suppressed a number of comments that I have submitted to the SSL blog and SSL Facebook page which pointed out how certain U*Us, including "less than excelllent" U*U ministers. . . were guilty of various "acts of exclusion, oppression, or violence" because of people's identities. In a new Standing On The Side Of Love blog post entitled 'Urge President Obama to Remain Steadfast' Dan Furmansky asks U*Us -

"Will you send a message to President Obama urging him to remain steadfast, continue to speak out against anti-Muslim hysteria, and vocally support religious freedom?"

Dan reminds U*Us that - "The Standing on the Side of Love campaign is founded on the ideal of a world where no one is denied freedom or equality because of who they are, whether they have been marginalized because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, gender, disability, or any other fundamental aspect of their identity — including their religion."

and goes on to say -

"On the heels of increasing anti-immigrant rhetoric, the prevalence of Muslim-bashing is even more alarming. I believe we must take action. . . Please let the President know that you support love over fear, and that you agree with him when he says that Muslims “have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in the country.”"

Dan concludes his appeal for tolerance with the following words -

"When we stand on the side of love, we agree to not turn a blind eye to bigotry, oppression and discrimination. We share our highest ideals and allow ourselves to be inspired by others in our community. We take action to make life better for those who are marginalized. And we speak as people of faith who value acceptance, equality, and above all else, love."

Here is the comment that I just submitted in response to the above SSL rhetoric -

Um Dan. . .

Don't you think that UUA President Peter Morales was just a tad anti-Muslim himself when he contemptuously wrote off Islam, and most other "old religions" no doubt including Judaism and Christianity, as "obsolete religions created for another time" that "contribute to the darkness" of "hatred, injustice, prejudice, ignorance"?

Please don't turn a blind eye to Rev. Peter Morales' own anti-religious bigotry or indeed the bigotry of other U*U ministers.

end quote

It will be interesting to see if my comment is posted to the blog or if it is suppressed by the "moderators" aka censors of the Standing On The Side Of Love blog. . .
