Anti-Muslim Stereotypical Rhetoric And Unitarian Universalism - What's The Connection?

Can U*Us say UUA President Rev. Peter Morales?

Not to mention those other "less than perfect" Unitarian Universalists who engage in "stereotypical rhetoric" that demonizes and marginalizes not only Muslims, but Christians, Pagans and other Theists within the UU "religious community". . .

Without further ado here is the comment that I just submitted in response to the 30 Days Of Love blog post entitled -

Day 12: Challenging Anti-Muslim Bigotry

Unitarian Universalists need to responsibly address the anti-Muslim intolerance that exists within the UU community itself. To say nothing of the rather more common anti-Christian, and broader anti-religious intolerance, that infects many UU churches. Speaking of anti-Muslim "stereotypical rhetoric". . . Rev. Peter Morales himself offensively trashed Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and any number of other unspecified "old religions", as "obsolete religions created for another time" in his 'A Religion For Our Time' sermon announcing his candidacy for president of the UUA. According to Rev. Morales' sermon cum "stump speech", "obsolete religions" such as Islam, along with Christianity and Judaism etc. etc. "lead to tribalism, violence, suspicion, hatred, and oppression" and "contribute to the darkness" of "hatred, injustice, prejudice, ignorance". To my knowledge UUA President Rev. Peter Morales has never formally retracted, otherwise backed away from, or officially apologized for uttering this anti-religious "stereotypical rhetoric" that could potentially lead to him facing blasphemous libel charges in a country like Pakistan, or possibly even Canada. . .
