The UUA's Ministerial Fellowship Committee And UUA Child Sex Abuse Cover-Up And Denial - What The Connection?

The Ministerial Fellowship Committee aka MFC's Annual Report to the General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association which was delivered by the MFC's Co-Chairs Rev. Dr. Rebekah Savage and Rev. Jacqueline "Jackie" Clement, in June 2021 clearly states that "the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC) is a by-law defined committee of the UUA Board of Trustees charged with broad responsibilities for credentialing Unitarian Universalist ministers for service in our association of congregations and for ensuring the ethical integrity of our credentialed ministry."

I have known that the MFC is a committee of the UUA Board for quite some time, since at least 2010, so the question is. . .

How was it possible for UUA Moderator Jim Key, i.e. the Chairman of the UUA Board of Trustees, to assert that:

"There were no incidents of abuse of children or elders in my investigations (of Unitarian Universalist clergy sexual misconduct)."

in the UUA Board's "official apology" for UUA clergy sexual misconduct that he inappropriately inserted into his first Moderator's Report to a General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association aka UUA GA in June 2014, when a sub-committee of the UUA Board of Trustees was well positioned to know that
Rev. William Alexander (Sandy) McEachern had resigned from fellowship in the Ministerial Fellowship Committee pending an MFC clergy misconduct review for "Conduct Unbecoming (sexual misconduct - criminal conviction for child molestation)" in 1984, following his conviction for child molestation in 1983, and Rev. Mack Wallace Mitchell had been removed from fellowship in the MFC for "Conduct Unbecoming (criminal conviction for statutory rape and kidnapping)" in 1993 following his conviction for the forcible rape, and indeed "unnatural rape", of a teenage Tibetan refugee in 1992?
