Registered Sex Offenders And Interim UUA Moderator Candidates - What's The Connection?
It would seem that Rev. Calvin "Oh Oh" Dame was not the only Unitarian Universalist minister with a history of sexual misconduct to seek the position of interim moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations aka interim UUA Moderator back in 2004, in the wake of Diane Olson's resignation as UUA Moderator. According to a UU World magazine report from February 2004 titled 'Board chooses interim moderator' by Tom Stites and Deborah Weiner -
"The unprecedented board election was made necessary by the resignation of Diane Olson, who was elected moderator at the 2000 General Assembly in Cleveland. She resigned October 2, citing health and personal circumstances."
and
"After Olson resigned, five people stepped forward as candidates for interim moderator. In addition to Courter, an information technology consultant, author, and speaker who lives in Traverse City, Michigan, the candidates were the Rev. Calvin Dame, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Augusta, Maine, and trustee from the Northeast District; Patsy Sherrill Madden of St. Louis, former member of the GA Planning Committee and a candidate for moderator in the 2000 election; Dr. Elisabeth McGregor of Sharon, Massachusetts, former first vice moderator and trustee from the Ballou Channing District; and the Rev. Douglas Morgan Strong of Plano, Texas, former member of the GA Planning Committee. After interviewing the candidates, the Trustees submitted their votes by secret ballot."
That secret ballot of the UUA Board of Trustees resulted in Gini Courter being elected as interim moderator of the UUA. As UUs well know. . . "Less Than Just" Gini was subsequently elected as UUA Moderator, and she held "the UUA's highest volunteer position" for two full terms before stepping down as UUA Moderator at the 2013 UUA GA.Thus Gini Courter was UUA Moderator for almost a full decade. A decade in which very little was done to live up to the letter and the spirit of the UUA's official apology to UU clergy sexual misconduct that UUA Vice President Kathleen 'Kay Montgomery delivered at the 2000 UUA GA in Nashville Tennessee.
Unitarian Universalists who actually care about such "delicate personal matters", and alleged or actual UUA clergy sexual misconduct more specifically, might want to engage in a free and responsible search for the Truth and meaning of whether or not the Douglas Morgan Strong, who is a Registered Sex Offender whose sexual offense was indecent exposure, is none other than the Rev. Douglas Morgan Strong who was scheduled to speak on the topic "When I Have Dementia," at 11:15 a.m. Sunday June 23, 2013, at the Red River Unitarian Universalist Church in Denison, Texas. The odds that Rev. Douglas Morgan Strong was convicted of sexual offences that Stikeman Elliott Barristers & Solicitors litigation lawyer Maitre Marc-André Coulombe might describe as "other sexual perversions" would seem to be pretty good, eh U*Us?
I wonder what UUA clergy consultant Rev. Dr. Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang would have to say about Rev. Douglas Morgan Strong's U*U "clergy image" in this mugshot of him wrapped in a towel?
I also wonder what Rev. Douglas Morgan Strong was thinking when he put in his candidacy for Interim UUA Moderator so soon after being convicted of the crime of indecent exposure and registered as a sex offender in Texas aka The Lone Star State?
I have actually known about this matter for a few years now, as a result of earlier instances of people running Google searches on Douglas Morgan Strong and their Google search results leading to the above displayed web pages and related "clergy images" as it were. It was however this very recent Google search from *someone* in the Boston area that reminded me about Rev. Strong and prompted me to finally get around to blogging about his conviction for indecent exposure around the time he was seeking ti become Interim Moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Association about a decade ago in 2003 and 2004. I take note of the fact that this visitor to The Emerson Avenger blog returned to engage in a free and responsible search for the Truth and meaning of my blog posts about the shameful Lance Armstrong legal bullying the UUA is engaging in that seeks to intimidate me into removing TEA blog posts about "certain Unitarian Universalist ministers" who "engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" or "child molestation" or as yet unspecified "other sexual perversions" etc. I really must get around to finally fulfilling my 2013 New Year's Resolution to blog about certain Unitarian Universalist ministers who have not only engaged in pedophilia, but who have been convicted of that despicable crime, since I hadn't actually done so prior to Maitre Marc-André Coulombe's arrogant and aggressive cease and desist demand letters that falsely accused me of the archaic crime of blasphemous libel for allegedly making "unfounded and vicious allegations to the effect that ministers of the Association engage in such despicable crimes as pedophilia and rape" when I had done no such thing.
