Actually very few of these famous people *are* U*Us.
In fact most of them died long before the Unitarians
merged with the Universalists to become UUs in 1961
only to devolve into all-inclusive U*Us by 2003. . .

In fact most of those people are not Unitarian*Universalists aka U*Us. For starters most of them are long dead and thus should be referred to in the past tense. Even some of the few bona fide U*Us are dead, such as Kurt Vonnegut Jr. who CUC Executive Director Mary Bennett honoured by inserting his drawing of an asshole between the two Us of U*Uism in a misguided effort to symbolize the "inclusiveness" of the U*U movement. Ralph Waldo Emerson rejected what he called "corpse-cold Unitarianism". . .
