The Emerson Avenger

The Emerson Avenger is a "memory hole" free blog where censorship is scorned. This blog will "guard the right to know" about any injustices and abuses that corrupt Unitarian Universalism. Posters may speak and argue freely, according to conscience, about any injustices and abuses, or indeed hypocrisy, that they may know about so that the Avenger, in the form of justice and redress, may come surely and swiftly. . . "Slowly, slowly the Avenger comes, but comes surely." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

In 1992 I underwent a profound revelatory experience of God which revealed that the total solar eclipse "Eye of God" is a "Sign in the Heavens" that symbolizes God's divine omniscience. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan of the Unitarian Church of Montreal contemptuously dismissed as my "psychotic experience" here: http://revelationisnotsealed.homestead.com - This revelatory religious experience inspired me to propose an inter-religious celebration of Creation that would take place whenever a total solar eclipse took place over our planet. You may read about what Rev. Ray Drennan and other leading members of the Unitarian Church of Montreal falsely and maliciously labeled as a "cult" here: http://creationday.homestead.com - I am now an excommunicated Unitarian whose "alternative spiritual practice" includes publicly exposing and denouncing Unitarian*Universalist injustices, abuses, and hypocrisy. The Emerson Avenger blog will serve that purpose for me and hopefully others will share their concerns here. Dee Miller's term DIM Thinking is used frequently and appropriately on this blog. Seven Principles Unitarian Universalists Could Be Honouring And Upholding Rather Than Wantonly Disregarding Or Outright Violating And Betraying. . .

The Seven Principles which Unitarian Universalist congregations *covenant* to "affirm and promote" are:

The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Quite regrettably, in my own experience and long-term observation, Unitarian Universalists aka U*Us have repeatedly (indeed quite continuously and even shamefully obstinately) wantonly disregarded the Seven UU Principles and have even outright violated and betrayed both the letter and the Spirit of these Seven Principles, to say nothing of other claimed ideals of The U*U Movement. . .

As I have half-jokingly said many times -

Unitarian Universalists are very good at "affirming and promoting" the Seven Principles but they aren't very good at actually practicing them.

Or, as the dis*Illusioned conservative U*U Joel Monka put it recently in the 'Questioning the moral authority of the UUA and leadership' post of his CU*UMBAYA blog -

"When you think about it, 'Do as I preach, not as I do,' seems to be our motto."

And believe me U*Us, I *do* in fact think about the numerous, and indeed quite shameful ways, in which:

"Do as I preach, not as I do."

is the glaringly obvious actual practice of Unitarian*Universalists in general, and "less than perfect" Unitarian*Universalist clergy in particular. . .

Unitarian Universalists aka U*Us "affirm and promote" "the inherent worth and dignity of every person" out of one side of their outrageously hypocritical mouths while happily allowing intolerant and abusive U*Us, including "less than perfect" U*U clergy such as Rev. Ray Drennan, *the* Reverend Doctor*ed Victoria Weinstein aka Peacebang aka Vicki The Impaler, and Rev. Cynthia P. Cain, to say nothing of other "less than perfect" U*U clergy. . . to deeply insult and outright defame people, publicly humiliate people, and/or otherwise verbally and psychologically abuse people.

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "justice, equity and compassion in human relations" but not only obstinately refuse to actually practice genuine justice, equity and compassion in human relations but even go to considerable lengths to undermine and pervert justice in various ways.

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations" but hypocritically allow anti-Christian bigotry and broader anti-religious intolerance and bigotry, as well as anti-Republican intolerance and bigotry, to thrive in "Less Than Welcoming" U*U congregations. My formal clergy misconduct complaints about both anti-religious intolerance and bigotry and anti-Republican intolerance and bigotry have been either completely ignored by the UUA, or dismissed out of hand by the UUA.

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "a free and responsible search for truth and meaning" but U*Us not only obstinately refuse to engage in a genuinely free and responsible search for the truth and meaning of my grievances about various U*U injustices, abuses and hypocrisy; but even seem to be only too happy to tell all kinds of slanderous and libelous lies about me and even tell some perjurious lies in their sworn testimony in court. . .

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large" but go to considerable lengths to suppress and deny my own right of conscience and cynically manipulate, or otherwise compromise and undermine the democratic process within U*U congregations. In fact I can make some reasonably arguments to the effect that outrageously hypocritical Unitarian Universalists even compromise and undermine the democratic process in society at large. . . Having me falsely arrested on completely bogus criminal charges that I was rightly acquitted of, in a deeply misguided effort to force an end to my peaceful public protest against U*U injustices in front of the Unitarian Church of Montreal, is but one Big Fat U*U Example of how U*U hypocrites compromise and undermine the democratic process in society at large.

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all" but have done little or nothing to sincerely and effectively work towards the goal of peace, liberty, and justice for your's truly and other victims of U*U clergy misconduct and/or other internal U*U injustices and abuses. If Unitarian Universalist U*Us abjectly fail or even obstinately refuse to work towards "the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all" within the context of the so-called U*U World how can they possibly pretend to "affirm and promote" "the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all" in the much larger *real* world. Do tell U*Us. . .

Unitarian Universalists "affirm and promote" "respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part" but seem to be blind to just how interdependent and interconnected that "web" really is.

Another unspoken principle some of us aspire to is "don't brag". I think more of us actually live the principles but the rest of us don't hear about it.
