The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee aka UUSC Asked Me How I Promote Religious Freedom & Challenge Anti-Muslim Prejudice In A UUSC Tweet
*This* UUSC Tweet -
How do you or your congregation promote religious freedom & challenge anti-Muslim prejudice?
So I answered that question by Tweeting -
@UUSC I protest in front of the Unitarian Church of Montreal and 25 Beacon Street with signs saying -
UNITARIAN PREJUDICE & BIGOTRY SUCK U*U
And yes U*Us, Unitarian*Universalist prejudice and bigotry most certainly includes, but is by no means limited to. . . anti-Muslim prejudice and bigotry. I well remember the "fundamentalist atheist" Humanist U*U bigot Valmyre (Val) Bourdon contemptuously expressing his disgust at the fact that Sufi Muslims in traditional Muslim clothing had set foot in the Unitarian Church of Montreal during the first celebration of Creation Day in November 1995. Much more recently, Rev. Peter Morales "stump speech" announcing his candidacy for UUA President was riddled with completely negative characterizations of Judaism, Christianity, *Islam* and any number of other "old religions" which Rev. Morales labeled as "obsolete religions created for another time" that "contribute to the darkness of "hatred, injustice, prejudice, ignorance" and "lead to tribalism, violence, suspicion, hatred, and oppression".
In fact my first Tweet in response to this UUSC Tweet said -
@UUSC UUA President Morales has called Islam an "obsolete religion" that leads to "tribalism, violence, suspicion, hatred, and oppression".
More later. . .
