For a variety of reasons, not the least of them being that U*Us in general, and U*U ministers in particular, are definitely *few* and quite regrettably all too often overweeningly proud aka filled with hubris. . . I have been meaning to lampU*Un the U.S. Marines' recruiting slogan -

Rev. Earl Koteen, the once and future anonymous author of the 'Calling Ministers' blog, just gave me the perfect opportunity to finally get around to using *that* ammunition against overly prideful and hubris filled U*Us today. In a quite revealing blog post en*titled 'Marine Corps Officers & UU Ministers' Rev. Earl UU Koteen compares U.S. Marine Corps officers with Big Fat U*U ministers, most of whom wouldn`t last a week in the United States Marine Corps, or any other country's Marines, if their life depended on it. . . Quite frankly I expect that at least a few proud Marines, U.S. Marines and otherwise, will be utterly appalled that Rev. Earl Koteen actually dared to compare Big Fat U*U ministers, especially those rather pathetic "less than excellent" ones that I blog about here, to U.S. Marine Corps officers. Come to think of it. . . a few U*U ministers might be equally appalled at being compared to U.S. Marine Corps officers in light of their anti-military stances.
Without further ado here is a typo corrected version of the comment that I submitted to Rev. Earl W. Koteen's "moderated" aka *censored* 'Calling Ministers' blog earlier today -

"The Marines Corps officer corps is a very tight-knit, caring bunch. They literally are willing to lay down their lives for one another. They certainly do not wish to badmouth one another in fitness reports. Giving nearly everyone outstanding ratings is one way of recognizing the contributions of these hard working, talented, and dedicated individuals. When officers not yet eligible for retirement do need to work on their growing edges, the outstanding ratings demonstrate the respect in which they are held and the confidence that they have the capacity to make the needed changes."
Why am I not surprised to learn that you support the unethical UUA "ethos" of evaluation of U*U ministers that *pretends* that "less than excellent" U*U ministers, indeed pathetic mediocrities who give U*Uism a bad name. . . are "outstanding" Earl?
Don't confuse U*U ministers with the U.S. Marines Earl. Most U*U ministers, even the truly "outstanding ones" (of which there are *very* few), wouldn't last a week in the Marines.

Earl Koteen's very revealing 'Calling Ministers' blog post about the culture of *pretending* that "less than excellent" U*U ministers, aka pathetically if not pathologically unprofessional U*U ministers, are actually "outstanding" (or at least that their intolerant and abusive, or otherwise "less than professional" unbecoming conduct is "within the appropriate guidelines of ministerial leadership" or otherwise acceptable to the UUA and MFC) there will definitely be some further ado about this issue, either in this blog post or in some brand-spanking new TEA blog posts down the road a bit. . . Rev. Earl Koteen, and other "less than excellent" U*U ministers who actually approve of the "less than ethical" *ethos* of U*U ministers that effectively prohibits U*U ministers from badmouthing one another in "fitness reports" etc., while allowing them to egregiously badmouth pretty much anyone else these ever to tight-knit and caring U*U clerics *care* to badmouth. . . and thus leads to U*U "pastors" getting away with all kinds of "murder", including but by no means limited to harmful and damaging character assassination of me and other people, had better get braced for a U.S. Marine Corps style Big Fat U*U Ass Chewing courtesy of The Emerson Avenger.
